I went out onto one of the biggest party campuses in the US last night at midnight, strictly to catch pokemon and hit up pokestops. I felt ridiculous driving out there, I thought "maybe there will be a few people doing the same and I won't look so odd." As I drove down the main downtown street I saw them.
Herds of people of all types out in the streets yelling out what pokemon were where. There were HUNDREDS of people outside the bars. More outside than in! When I parked I realized the 3 most popular bars were all pokestops...and they all had lures. I hung out there for about an hour then just sat back and watched what 10 year old me could only dream of. I watched people who would never interact with each other strike up friendships, I saw old and young people comparing what they had caught, people out on dates, people coming out of the bars to catch something then go back in.
At one point someone yelled "THERE'S A RHYDON IN THE STREET!" and from my position I could see 50+ people all turn their cameras in the same direction to reveal the beast. For a moment there WAS a huge stony rhinoceros in the middle of downtown. It was real.
For as silly as it was, I will never forget that moment. This game is unreal, it's bringing people together.

Bravely Default. Really simple JRPG. Fun job system like ye'olden nip games. Cute aesthetics with really nice visuals and fun designs. Good length, fun gameplay. Kind of easy, but the difficulty can be turned up.

If you don't already own a Wii U and you like Zelda, I could see many springing for this to play the new Zelda knowing that it can also compete with the other consoles.
However Nintendo is stupid and didn't show it off at E3 and is releasing it right after the holidays so its probably fucked.

If you think that every single Nintendo fan bought a Wii U you're mistaken.
Nintendo said they haven't unveiled it because they don't want their competitors to "steal their idea", meaning it's going to be based on a gimmick yet again, meaning it's going to be WiiU 2.0 and flop right on its fucking face.
And as someone who loves Nintendo, and loves his WiiU, I can't even muster any sympathy. They should fucking know better by now, and just release a normal console with competitive hardware and strong first and third party support. But this is Nintendo, and their compulsive need to innovate even when they're fixing things that aren't broken is going to be what kills them.

I fucking did it. I fucking beat them. After 5 months of playing this game on and off, and constantly giving up every time it got hard, this time I told myself that I wouldn't put the game down until I did it. And I did.

Stopped reading there. The first was an okay, but painfully average. The second is a mature dudebro cinematic experience, and the third has 35 dollars of online DLC that affects the game in unfair ways.
