Is buying a 3DS worth my money if I'm only really into strategy games and sports games? On my DS I used to play countless hours of Age Of Empires, Age of Mythologies, Advance Wars, Anno 1701 etc. I also had the Tony Hawk games on it, which I enjoyed very much.
I just get the feeling, browsing through the games released for 3DS, that if you're not into RPG's, you're missing out on a lot. The only RPG's i've ever played are pokémon and final fantasy VIII.

I'm struggling to think of any relevant games on the console in either genre. If Fire Emblem could somehow be qualified as "strategy"(which it shouldn't be), the 3DS ones suck ass.

How come only Nintendo are capable of making god tier platformers? Why can't Sony make anything worthwhile? Why hasn't anyone ever been able to make something that succeeds Mario as the bar setter for platforming games?
Because Nintendo's the only company that people go to for platformers in the first place aside from a few indie devs, but comparing indie to AAA is useless in the first place.
People stopped caring about platformers after the 90's. Now all people wanna play are sports games and fps.

What FF game are you currently playing?
Currently playing FF7 for the first time.
Almost done with disc 2.
This game started off good but the plot has totally lost me, and the overwhelming amount of mini games is a turn off. The world design and soundtrack are amazing though, and so was that first disc. So far not nearly as good as FF6 or Tactics or 12(i know liking this is controversial) imo.

Okay /v/, I'm about to start playing PoE for the second time. My first attempt was a few months ago and I didn't get far, couldn't get into it, mainly because I reached the castle part (playing on hard) and got bored of getting slaughtered.
So I want to try again and this time I'm determined to do better. I'm not an experienced player with this sort of game but I think I can hold my own with a bit of practice and more patience.
Advice needed on what build to go for, what to level up first, anything I should really absolutely do in the early game, etc, etc. Also, does the game get more or less interesting the further you get?

Get as much deflection, fortitude, reflex and will as possible. Nothing else in the game actually matters.
If those get in the hundrets you can solo steamroll the game because only a handful of enemies can even hurt you at this point.
Cipher is OP as fuck, melee wizard has highest single target dps in game, barbarian is best group dps glass cannon.

If you got bored that quickly while playing on hard then maybe you should play on easy mode? the combat is less tedious that way and you can enjoy the story and characters

I'm too proud to play on easy, though I'll probably start on normal and bump it up and down from hard as required. I'm in it for the story and RP mainly.
For this reason, going Cipher is sounding good if it's OP.
Complimentary message for those who have recently started browsing this cesspool.
1. Get Skyrim Legendary Edition on Xbox 360. Love it and play it to death. Was able to fulfill my wishes by role-playing as a medieval fantasy Vampire Lord. Gigantic open-world with tons of freedom/exploration.
2. Get Witcher 3 for PS4. Love it even more. As a reader of the Witcher series of novels I was finally able to experience the life of a hired monster slayer who loves to fuck medieval milfs. Absolutely gorgeous to look at with god-tier writing to match its stunning graphics.
These are just two of the games 'blacklisted' by these hive-minded contrarian faggots. Dark Souls 2 and Metal Gear Solid V being other examples. I have a feeling that Final Fantasy XV is up next. Remember newfags: fuck /v/
