The majority of this board wasn't even old enough to have played the original game on release yet they are the target demographic for this game.

Open beta for Lost Reavers came out yesterday for Wii U, it's not too shabby, if a little buggy.
It's basically a 4 player dungeon crawling treasure collecting shooty stabby free to play game, with microtransactions to be added after the beta. Hopefully they won't get too jewish with the microtransactions.
I've been playing as blonde pistol slut, she's all about dem headshots.
It's super easy at first but once you hit level 10 and access the 2-star missions shit gets fun.

I've just beaten this boss. We were all level 19-21 and needed 40 minutes to take it down. It drops 3 extra relics, money, badges and 2 weapons for everyone.

I pirated it. The game is shit.
So hows /v/ liking the doom beta? While not quite the classic arena shooter we want its decent. Apart from the loadouts and bullet spongey players, its pretty enjoyable. That being said player movement speed needs a bit of boost.
Im primarily interested in the game for the single player but the multiplayer seems to be more than just tacked on trash, a few patches and it could be great.
Thoughts?

Is there even any point in using a shield? Why did they even put shields in the game? Every enemy has a guard break and infinite stamina. I am finding the game to be much easier just by 2 hand wielding my weapon and spamming R1 recklessly.

care to elaborate? when I have my shield up I'm not doing damage meanwhile the enemy is shitting attacks and guard breaks with infinite stamina leaving no opening. You cant attack on the recoil because they have infinite poise during their attacks too so you just end up trading anyway.
