The dual wielding pope in the ice city is the strongest boss that you have to defeat to make it through the story. Only optional bosses are tougher. There are maybe 2 strong progression bosses.

Invisible war is totally worth a playthrough, despite it's flaws. Track down the old community HD texture pack for it, though, makes a huge difference on a game designed for original xbox.

There's tons of depth, but the execution barrier is incredibly low.
Learning how to play 2D or 3D fighting games takes a ton of time, but Virtua Fighter feels the smoothest or cleanest to pick up and play.

It might actually be better than Disc 1. Since things start happening at a reasonable pace instead everything being dragged out for as long as humanly possible between complete filler sections like the prison

Prison, orphanage, and tournament sections might seem like filler but they were really interesting world building. I'd much rather have that sort of "filler" than the simple A to B of many of today's RPGs.
