Do you think part of the reason the traditional game industry seems to be contracting is because young people don't have disposable income to buy games? This also applies to the other entertainment industries like cord-cutting, music sales, DVDs, cinema tickets, even newspapers etc.
Is it really a surprise that people focus on the same 3 franchises each year, buy $1 iPod games when you don't have the disposable income to try new things? The growth areas are where you get a ton of bang for your buck with shit like Netflix/Spotify etc.

The current generation of kids don't care about consoles. They play phone games and PC games. Why buy a PS4 for no games when they can get the biggest franchises on the planet on PC for little or no money? Minecraft, LoL, DotA2, these games are bigger than all the games on Xbox and PS4 combined. Minecraft still sells 10K copies a week years after launch. Nothing on consoles is even 1% that successful. Kids today can get free games and play them on the computers their family already owns for zero money. A console for $400 is hard to sell to a LoL or DotA addicted child who can get those games free. The console industry in Japan is already completely dead. It will be dead in the West in 10 years too. And good riddance. Sony has done nothing good for consoles. They had their chance to do something amazing and they didn't.

Myfriendhas. They're more comfortable than you'd think. I almost never turn on the 3D on my new3DS, so not really an issue there.
Great for small budgets, don't know how they feel for extended place sessions though

People are saying strenght builds are terrible in this game. Also, I just beat Bloodborne's dlc, I'm tired of the muh speed gameplay. I wanted to try a mage but people said they are absolute garbage.

Why would it matter if STR is weaker in a single player game?
Go magic swordsman. Magic by itself is terrible, but can still be very fun and useful in some situations and PvP, particularly utility spells.

Mage is garbage in this game. Almost all of the NPCs are too fast for magic and don't even get me started on PvP. You should try the Thief build or Tank build

Hey guys, wanted to let you know that I'm done with the Souls series.
Call me a casual all you want but frankly, those games are fucking garbage.
First I started with Demon's Souls, the most niche since it appears only
on PS3 so I expected a certain level of quality... I was wrong.
Almost immediately the game dissappointed me on it's delivery, the character rather than
running slides making it look like an autist on a skateboard, very irrealistic for
a game that gets namedropped for the "awesum atmosphere!!!!".
I got killed by the huge monster and "blahblah ur supposed to", well get fucked,
it's shit.
I manage to understand how to enter worlds after a while, apparently it's a hub-world kind of deal
(1999 called they want their mechanics back).
Long story short, I got literally killed like 60 times already and I've heard I'm supposed
to reach a boss...
This game isn't "hardcore" it's plain frustrating, it isn't "atmosferic" because graphics and movement
feel like they are ripped from a PS1, it isn't "fun" unless you hate yourself.
This isn't over though I said to myself maybe Dark Souls will be better so I download it from
Steam and apparently it's stuck at 30 FPS for some reason (crysis, metro, prey all work like a charm so
dont try to point at my PC because your PC might aswell be a fucking portable fridge compared to mine.
Now I tell you what, even if I pretended the FPS businness was nothing (hint: it's a HUGE deal and
if you're into gaming you know that) the game itself gave you a fucking broken sword at the beginning with which you
deal as much damage as a toothpick.
At that point I was already mad, then I get to this boss (it had a huge healthbar so I guess it was a boss)
and it kills me and kills me and kills me without me being able to do any substantial damage until I fucking Alt+F4,
tear off the printed steam code and delete all the game contents.
Lesson learned: NEVER listen to /v/ for LE HARDCORE GAME PREPARR TO DIEXD
This is not a game: it's a fetish and might as well be called virtual cuckoldry because that's what it is.
