Pic related. I love the Himalayan setting with all the Indian and Nepali folklore, but the game itself fucking sucks.
i didn't think the game sucked. i mean the story was annoying crap and i skipped all the tedious amount of cutscenes but the gunplay was good and i liked sneaking around the bases fighting enemies.

Far cry 2. I wanted an african bush war setting with jungles, savannahs, without any modern warfare spec ips shit, just an AK and 3rd world tech.

This game is TRASH.
The movement is awful walking around is simply a chore. Most horse movement is done completely for you, just hold A. Picking up loot is unnecessarily difficult with shotty camera and movement, plus the text is baby dick sized even when they made it bigger. Main Story line quests consist of you going to kill something to get information from someone about your stupid bitch. Board quests are either go kill something or go use your witcher sense, then go kill something. Combat is atrocious, it is slow, clunky, doesn't feel satisfying, and is inconsistent. Some times entering a fight you would not enter Combat Mode thus when trying to avoid an attack with 'b' you would just jump. I hope you like manually controlling the camera during combat because the lock on is trash. Loading times i have clocked at being 1 minute plus on multiple occasions with an average being around 43 seconds.
Yea the game looks beautiful, most do nowadays. Yea the story line is pretty good (wtf kinda villain name is 'Wild Hunt'?). but its based on a book so it was already there.
The only redeeming quality could have been the size of the game. but even that gets ruined by the hoarding aspect of the game where you basically just pick fucking everything up until you have to menu for 30 seconds both ways to equip what you want.
So /v/ pls explain to me how this shit was game of the year.

So Overwatch is coming out. I've played the beta and it seems to have a solid foundation as an fps. The problem with the game is that it's really bland
Even with 21 playable heroes it feels way too much like tf2. Level objectives aside, it's almost like blizz copied valve's concept exactly.
Then I remembered, blizzard is owned by Activision - the same assholes that keep up the shitty CoD franchise.
Honestly, I think that if you're halfway smart, you should be able to figure out Activision/Blizzard's tactics regarding marketing, 'concept design' (or lack thereof) and most of all - consumer complacency.
a good example is little kids with no idea of what a better game might look like because they had marketing shoved down their throats from the other stuff they buy and the places they frequent (mountain dew, gamestop, etc).
Another good example are product loyalists. These are people that have been with blizzard since diablo 1 or 2, sc1, and vanilla WoW. If u know your history with these games, this is consumer complacency at its finest.
They really don't care anymore and you faggots just eat it up. Look at WoW right now...you can buy a level 100 character, hell you get one just for buying legion right now.
