You can farm blood vials which stack up to 20 and you gain regain health by attacking enemies. Sure Bloodborne has it's difficulty spikes in some bosses but anyone that's played a Souls game to completion won't have much trouble.
The real challenge is staying alive long enough to make it past two horrendously long loading screens when you want to nip back the the Hunter's Dream.
