What is it that's so good about this game? I've played through it dozens of times yet I still want to run through and more than a decade later people still quote it and discuss strategy even though it's a relatively simple game with a goofy story. Why is this game so amazing?

what MMO should i get into, /v/? i wanted to play BDO for the longest time but when i heard about the price for the cosmetics it really turned me off. It would have been perfect, even if they still kept the shitty free costumes and had pay costumes, if they just made them affordable.

Classic-style game with a decent budget that takes influence from the old games without slavish replication. Something like the recent Shinobi game on 3DS, or Bionic Commando Rearmed, or even Super Castlevania IV (in terms of accessibility/expansion, though hopefully better balanced). The series, should it continue, needs to reaffirm its identity by looking back on what made it good to begin with. The people that point to Dark Souls are dullards. As for the specifics, who knows? But another 3D game probably isn't a good idea right now.
That said, I love Castlevania--the classic games anyway--but I don't know why video game fans as an audience expect series to go on perpetually. Why can't shit just fucking end? Whether you're a fan of the classic games or Igarashi's banal shit either way you got a lot of great games.
We are all gathered here today to pay our respects to a framchise that has in many ways defined a generation, but first, could anyone like to say some words?

Literally just bought a fucking 980 TI 2 weeks ago. Fortunately, I bought it at a brick and mortar store so I can still return it for a store credit.
Is it worth the hype? I have like a week or so to return it but that means I'll go without any vidya until I'm able to buy a 1080...
