The excellent Stalker: Call of Pripyat wouldn't stand a chance if it were released out of the blue in 2016. Nobody would care. NeoGAF would dismiss it as a janky Russian Fallout 4 ripoff. People would make gifs mocking the animations. Professional youtubers would stagger around dying every time an emission comes and blame the game for not having more tutorials. There would be dozens of "Why no black genderfluid lesbians in STALKER?" articles.

All the new PC games look really uninspired and boring and it keeps getting worse everyday. Basically all are requirement light and make no use of my configuration. And what the fuck happened to Civ6??
I built my PC in 2014 and padi a pretty penny for it but the only real time I've ever properly put it to use was when I was playing GTA V. Feels pretty bad

Yeah, I see people wanting 1080/1070 and I'm like what's the point? No games on PC actually make use of the power.
And then games like Uncharted 4 come along on low price consoles which visually blow away anything on my 'superior' platform.
Aside from "Le combat xD" falseflagging and the NPCs, prove to me how this is not the best in its series.
Oblivion had the best quests, but a generic world. Also had the best OST. Skyrim had the best nothing outside of graphics. Morrowind had the best world, the best main quest, the best replayability factor, and the best secrets. Also had the best cities.
Don't even bother spouting "Nostalgiafag", I played Skyrim and Oblivion before I got deep into Morrowind.
Morrowind >= Oblivion > Daggerfall > Skyrim > Arena.
Yeah it's kinda fun, but once you've done all the quests, that's pretty much it. Eventually all the dungeons will be empty and all the NPCs will have nothing more to say.
That doesn't happen in Daggerfall, you can always go to a new region, there's always another dungeon, and always more work to do.
In Daggerfall if I like a place, I can buy a house and live there. In Morrowind if I like a place, I have to murder and steal a house (even if I'm playing a good guy) or be a bum who sleeps in a tavern every day. That's no life for a retired adventurer.

And that's why I fucking love Daggerfall. You can get entirely absorbed in the game, the world is so huge, there's so much to explore, and the randomization works out in its favor like that.
I'd put DF higher but Oblivion was my first so I'm rather fond towards it.
Also, the house thing in Morrowind is untrue. You had faction strongholds, if you joined the great houses, which you had no reason not to unless you were an RPer.
Ok, /v/. I'm finally commiting sudoku next month. I got to keep my thoughts away from reality for the next 32 days or so. Recommend some good vidya for PC or that I can emulate. An RPG would be perfect, but almost anything would do.
