Anyway, Melee is my favorite. Wish the newer ones used Melee's physics for a base and just built it around that. It isn't as if casuals disliked Melee or anything.
That said I enjoy dicking around with the new one, my main complaint is that most throws throw way too far and there can be matches where a whole lot of nothing happens. It's a drag, but chock full of fan service and fun so I can't really complain too much.

This may be the first non-shitposting SMASH post I have seen. You are right. Melee had great physics and mechanics, but the newest one has a great roster and great addition. Sm4ash+Melee would make the perfect smash game.

1. Abyss Watchers. The music for the boss is amazing and really hits the atmosphere for this fallen legion. The first phase switch between hostile and friendly mod is super unique and made for very novel and fun boss. The second phase is honestly equal to and arguably more fun and challenging than Maria
2. Ludwig the Holy Blade. Honestly the hardest BB boss for me next Orphan (yet to beat) but every attempt was fun every time. Mechanically, and lore wise, the phase shift is perfect. Not only does it provide a very drastic shift in combat but the atmosphere shift builds so much hype.
3. Champion fucking Grundyr. Do I really need tot say? I thought I booted up SFV with all his frametraps .
4. The Martyr Logarius. Culminating boss to one of the games only major plot lines. Rewards high level play and parrying. (con't)
Abyss Watchers are way easier than Maria. 2nd phase has practically no health and hardly any poise. Still a great boss fight though.

Taught me the visceral rune combo that would later trivialize Gerhman and Maria.
5. Maiden Astrea and her loyal knight- Garl Vinland. S tier atmosphere. Seriously, the fight itself is pretty good but nothing special but damn does the dialogue and music really build up something special. Fuck Sif, this fight is the original guilt trip fight.
