You dont understand the fanboyism people have for Nintendo, it is so much deeper than traditional gaming. Nintendo fans don't give a fuck if Nintendo destroys the only relevant thing left about the in the gaming industry, as long as the company is making money, they can be happy.
It doesnt matter Nintendo has been shitting on then for the last 5 years, if a f2p social media app is all it takes to make Nintendo some quick cash, fans will literally do 180's and coming running back into Nintendos warm embrace.

Renting system was shit. They could just let you enter dungeons in any order without requiring an item.

Yeah but then all dungeons would be more or less the same level and none of the items would matter.
That's part of the issue with nonlinearity. It's hard to get the balance just right. It's a work in progress. Ideally, dungeons should get harder as you progress, with each one building on the last only throwing even greater challenges at you.
Renting system was dumb and I have no idea how they woulda worked around it.

Death didn't feel punishing enough to make me careful, it was just annoying and save points a plenty allowed for save scumming anyway.
Hero mode was pretty fun though.

Still, possible. Fallout 4 had the BoS as a believable /pol/ faction, but the Railroad was a complete opposite with believable Tumblrinas.
Though what's really funny is while BoS were /pol/ and could easily conquer the wasteland, the Railroad was Tumblr, dying, and would have been exterminated if not for protagonist.
Shit story otherwise, but gorgeous aesthetics. Why the fuck did Far Harbor lag more on PS4 than Xbone though? Is that some... playability exclusivity shit? It makes no sense since the game plays 100% better on PS4 than Xbone.
