ID software isn't tech wizards, that's Vulkan doing its job. It's a much better API than DX11/OpenGL.
Where should I make my first serious base? I made a temporary and sort of stumbled into having a Cyclops, so I can go pretty much anywhere.

I have been just roaming around looking for a spot to build a base, although I haven't found much interesting yet. I've only seen the seaweed forest, mushrooms, the plain with red grass, and I believe floating islands. And I just found an island above water after getting the signal from the Aurora.

Merchant, it's a sim game where you recruit heroes to go on quests and fetch some items either to be crafted into weapons, armors, potions or to be sold to a random guy for a small amount of time or for a special customer that gains XP
Game is rather slow paced since it's all about fetching and crafting but the UI looks good (they added different merchants/shops later). The core game is absolutely free and there is no need to put any money into it, but if you want to pay and help the developers you can unlock inventory slots or different shopkeepers at your leisure.
I fucking hate normies. Ingress has had been around for like four years, but suddenly when it got Pokémon skin everyone fucking loses their minds like it's some genius new idea or some shit. I want to go on killing spree every time something like this happens.
