Should I buy this game? I don't really play games of this genre, but it's gotten good reviews and I'm an Amazon Prime member so I can save a few bucks if I get it within a couple of weeks.
Does anime world war 2 sound like a good time?
Its pretty nice. The system is pretty bad, and although it is pretty anime-ish, its not as bad as you would assume. If you enjoy RPGs in the style of XCOM, there's a decent game here.
Simple and pretty easy, but can be a hell of a lot of fun.

But the golden age of From is just starting. Especially if they leave PC and Xbone behind and return to being Sony exclusive. Bloodborne was their first exclusive in a while, and the quality shows. They need more of that, and less of Contractual Obligation Multiplat Souls 3.

Except Demon's and Bloodborne were just beta tests for Dark Souls 1 and 3 respectively.
What games have actual, meaningful "branching paths"? A lot of AAA games *promise* branching paths but it turns out to be a crock of shit (a la Mass Effect).
The only game I can think of, off the top of my head, is Chrono Trigger, but that isn't really branching paths so much as "You can end the game at multiple points before you have technically completed it."

There was a game "Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis" that had two completely different paths, although the ending wasn't that different.
FF1: A group of adventurers restore the power of four elemental orbs which calms and heals a once chaotic and dying world, and close an infinite time loop.
FF2: Survivors of an Imperial attack join a resistance movement and eventually kill the Emperor. Not accepting defeat, the dead Emperor wages war on Hell and returns to the mortal coil as the King of Darkness.
