If I made a game I'd probably slightly increase the chance to get a rare drop as you go without getting one, just so the average player is more likely to have a "holy shit" moment without having to go out of their way to know about it and look for it

So, I just finished playing Dragon Quest VIII for the first time. It was an amazing game I never wanted to end. Its been years since I could play a game all the way through without getting bored. Are the other Dragon Quest games as good as this?
