I've seen Gothic 2 get a lot of praise in RPG threads, but I reckon I probably ought to play the first game first. Is it any good?
Is there any way to get it to not look like shit by modern standards?

those mods will at least let you play in modern resolutions. gothic 2 can look amazing with dx11 mod but I got no clue how to install that on g1. G1 is relatively short anyway.

What exactly is it that makes Diablo 2 so much better than Diablo 3?
There are definitely things I like about Diablo 3. It's a good looking game, the visual/audio feedback for killing monsters is really satisfying and the hotkey system is an improvement.
But whenever I get the urge for some Diablo gameplay, I'd much rather go play Diablo 2 than 3, even though I've already played the fuck out of it over the many many years since its release.
