Where the hell does the roster even go from here? How the fuck do you even **BEGIN** to top what this game has started? The standards are too fucking high.

>franchises with casts that rotate each game, meaning "outdated" characters will get dropped for newer relevant representatives, unless they're legacy characters

>let's face it, first party roster potential has pretty much reached the bottom of the barrel tbqh; out of "crowd-drawing" characters; unless they want to add characters on the level of Nabbit or General Scales, they'd have to rely on new characters from new Nintendo IPs
Honestly, and this is just me,next game should just be a reboot. New name, new physics, new engine, new stages extremely simplified and streamlined roster focusing on main characters like Smash 64's. Just completely go back to the drawing board. They'd never have the balls to do it though.

Not necessarily. Metal Gear Rising's soundtrack for instance was used appropriately, and the dynamicness where the lyrics kick in when you're kicking ass and nearing the end of a fight just make things more hype.
I also think the game Them's Fightin' Herds is making good use of dynamic soundtrack.

What the fuck? Since when does Square make phone games look decent?
I hate that ugly "mobile game" text box and font. Why can't mobile devs ever figure out that serif fonts don't belong in video games? It completely destroys any visual style the game might have been going for.
Can we have a thread about this game/series? I just played through pic related for the first time and really dug it.

Shantae is ok
DSi game isn't bad, it's very mediocre
3ds is the best one but the WiiU is shaping up to replace it
I really wanted to get into this but the core gameplay is just not fun.

Did you play this game or a different one?
At the start of the game Shantae is just okay to play as. But once you get a bunch of upgrades it's a fucking blast. I'd say that's the biggest problem with the game, getting more powerups sooner would have made the game more fun as a whole I think.
Still, by the end of the game you're a powerhouse and if you even sort of know what you're doing you can clear just about any screen in seconds. Which feels even better because of the buildup to that point, which is what I think they were going for with the slower start.
