If you have a basic sense of direction and use the Mini-Map, I see no reason why you should get stuck.
The only thing 'annoying' is going through your first time and having to constantly play the Ocarina and change the water depth.

Its good, but you'll have to have a serious rig to play games at stable 120/144 fps, and even then you'll quickly forget you're above 60, unlike 30
I recommend you stay on 60 fps
I have a 144hz monitor and it looks good but a few games I've played lock at 60fps but I've only encountered a few like that. For movies and animation I'd go with svp to utilize your monitor for videos
