Can we have a fucking DOOM thread? Why was this game so fucking perfect?
It's not perfect but it will always be fun to play
Bad ass SP campaign
>Full of "cinematic" shit, that only disturbs the flow of the gameplay.
>guns suck, unless you upgrade
>barely can hold any ammo, unless you level-up

>maps are linear pipes connecting obligatory combat arenas you get locked into.

>you get around half-a dozen enemies on screen at once, at best.
>every enemy is a literal loot Pinata, totally eliminating the point of exploring for supplies.
>rune challenges are just annoying filler.
>everything glows.
>some fucking robo guy literally handholds you through the game, via radio.
>the only good difficulties are locked until you beat the game
>no mods, and the Snapmap is literally just all about connecting handful of pre-made rooms together, with strict enemy limit.
>only 4 players max in Snapmaps.
>MP is Gaylo-tier shit.
>Spider is the last boss, and is not hitscan anymore either.

Seriously, I cannot believe how overhyped this crap is.
I've been going through original Doom 1 this week, and I just can't get over how greatly superior it is to this 2016 consolitis-reboot.

It is a GOOD single-player MMO. Fun with friends too, but IMO dragged down with SHIT combat.
Some people are fine with combat, but for me personally it is the only downside, that I can't get over.

You're probably looking at 3 or the PS2 games. From what I understand, 4 is packed full of content but mediocre, Of the Dead is lower than mediocre, and 5 is on the better side, but generally full price because it's brand new here.

So should I get MGS 5 or TW3?
I just recentply played through MGS1-4 and really enjoyed all of them. But I heard MGSV isn't that good and has no real ending while everyone says TW3 is a masterpiece
Both are great games. MGSV has far more gameplay options, but TW3 has a better story.
