How could Kenji Inafune go from directing classics like Mega Man X, and Mega Man 9 to Mighty Blunder 9? I just don't get how a visionary like him can get so side tracked.

Use the pillars to your advantage, concentrate on Ornstein, be careful. The fight is doable, but if it's your first time I can understand if you have some problems. Just be careful and patient.

It's been a while but iirc you have to wait for them to attack and open up so you can hit their squishy parts.
Just run past them. Unless you are farming twinkling titanite there is no need to kill them since you can easily just run to the fog gate.

I think some sort of Souls-like would fit better given the setting. I've actually been thinking about stuff like that, since I recently went to Lima and saw some Colonial-Era Spanish architecture and art.
