Wanted to jump in on the DMC series, but I've heard I should skip the first and just start at 2. Am I missing anything by doing so, or should I ignore such advice and play through the first?

General consensus is that you should play DMC 1 to get a feel for the series. Skip 2. Play, worship, and master DMC , and take or leave 4.
Just play 3 and 4
1 is only decent for the music, the mechanical gameplay is dated compared to the later titles. 2 was literally so bad that it nearly killed the franchise in the cradle. 3 was the best in the series overall, and 4 had the best combat mechanics but suffered from being rushed in terms of everything else.

First game is amazing, if a bit diferent from the others. Play it. Second is pretty bad, but has some cool stuff in it. Try it out, stop if you get bored.

Just like Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh gave us ~70 Pokémon while having old mons.
They can't make too many Pokemon per generation or they'll run out of material and have to end the series.

At last year's E3, Capcom's booth had a Cammy cosplayer with the phattest whooty I've ever seen.
Does this year's booth have an R. Mika or Laura cosplayer?

Cosplayers seemed pretty sparse today. Atlus had around 4 girls dressed in the P5 school uniform. And I also noticed a Shantae over at XSeed's booth, plus one girl dressed as Kat from Gravity Rush.
Didn't notice any cosplayers over at Capcom.
Why the fuck do you care about cosplayers?
If I want Cammy or R.mika or whatever I'll just go to Gelbooru or something

So I was on the last level of portal almost right after the fire pit, and I moved into the railing and shot the gun, and this happened. I can walk through it and nothing happens, and it just sits there. I can't seem to do it again though, has this happened to anyone else?

He's a good introductory boss for Kirby's intended audience. He's fine just the way he is.
-2 Whispy Woods
-spike balls, poison apples, and regular apples in the branches. Player has to be careful of what they suck
-Whispy is protected by vines which need to be cut before you can deal damage to Whispy
-animals will randomly pop out and attack to protect Whispy since Whispy is their home (Kirby can suck them and shoot them at Whispy)
-Whispy has a solar beam attack
-Whispy can project sharp roots from the ground
-Whispy can make metal leaves fall (Megaman 2 Woodman style)
-when Whispy is near death, the boss battle becomes a bullet hell duel where Kirby can only use ranged attacks to harm Whispy

Why does this game not get more love here? There even are several hate threads. Does /v/ not like video games?
It's one year away and it even seems polished already, meanwhile I get stuck in Witcher 3 and have to reload or see flying ojects or NPCs everywhere, even after 20 patches.
