After her personal quest, she makes a turnaround with every situation involving drugs, so how come even after you've maxed her affinity and started a relationship with her she STILL dislikes it when you do selfless things, as if the entire deconstruction of her character didn't matter? Guess this is still a Bethesda game and you just gotta live with the oversights.

It's literally just a coin flip. If you think you're maybe not gonna win, just go "Fuck, let's see what happens, maybe it'll help me"
There's no way to counter it, and you don't need to build a deck around it. If you have a 29 card deck, just put it in as a scapegoat and you might get lucky.
The meta apes tournaments and I don't see why a 50/50 10 mana turn even got a look in.
Because it can take an utterly lost game and swing it to your favour. It's not even much of a risk in the end.
Just have to know when to play it. Then it's more of a 66.6/33.3 rather than 50/50

2. It's mediocre
It falls into the trap of having things that sound good in theory (open world for a freeform movement system, melee combat only etc) but also makes us realize that the first game didn't really need more expansion beyond maybe a course creator. The gameplay is alright, but everything else is either dredged up from the first game or done worse.
There's still barely any kind of argument as to why the runners are the good guys or why the government is truly evil.

That's just it, there's a glimmer of decency in it, but it just doesn't have the spark anymore. Funny enough, Dying Light managed to do what MEC set out to do better, with the only major missing component being the wallrun.

Are the Risen games any good? I started playing the Gothic games for the first time recently-ish, and I quite enjoyed Gothic 1 and what I've played of 2 so far (haven't played 3 yet), and was wondering how well the Risen games stacked up to them.

If you entered your teens in the mid-90's, then yes. You should have some fun browsing the house and reminiscing. The story itself is a bit cheesy, but it's not the highlight of the experience. Think of it as a house exploration simulator. Also, don't buy it, it really isn't worth the money. There's no replay value whatsoever and once you get the initial kick out of it, that's it, it's over.
