Sims is one of those series that literally anyone can play. Hence why ended up outselling Myst to become the top selling games at the time.

So are any of the Assassin's Creed games any good and worth playing, /v/?
They are all incredibly monotonous and repetitive, only 2 was decent if I recall right.
Just play Black Flag and be done with it.
Most of /v/ agrees that 2 and Black Flag were objectively enjoyable games.
I personally have played most of the games and I'd agree with that sentiment.
What are some RTS games with fun single player campaigns? No Blizzard games
Total Annihilation is like 2 bucks on Steam right now. Best RTS ever in my opinion.

So for some reason this franchise managed to go under my radar although it seems to be right up my aisle.
I don't have a 3DS (yet) so there's just 1-3 for me to play. Any recommendations where I should start? Does it make sense to play 1 and 2 or is 3 just superior gameplay wise and I should start with that?

They get progressively better so, RF3 is the tip top for you to start with really. Unless you prefer the character designs from either 1 or 2, 3 would be your best bet.

What did you think of it? I thought it was pretty damn bland in most regards but what interests me is how people feel about old game designs being brought back into this. Like a live system and literally every spike and pit instakilling you while enemies deal zero damage. Or having to do the entire phase 1 of the last boss when you die during phase 2. Did you find that frustrating or is it what you wanted out of a modern Mega Man-like game?
