Is there any reasonable chance this game's visuals won't look like complete shit by release? The biggest issue just seems to be the lighting, so is it likely that could get fixed?

THey will fix some stuff like they did Cassie and a few other models.
Dvorah changed a bit as well.
Overall you no matter how much they change it, it's NRS so don't go expecting animu waifus or even average waifus.
They also WRONGLY waste all the graphics on the stages no one gives a shit about, in favor of having higher poly character models.

Yeah, KOTOR 1 and 2 are great games on their own that don't have to do anything with the current movie cannon and they are really good story driven games plus you have Darth Revan, what's not to like.

The only sensible posting behavior anymore is to use the catalog to find existing threads you want to post in. Don't even bother making new threads, nobody will post in them because no one can handle honest discussion without memes or shitposting or mentioning the latest boogeyman (gaia->ebaums->9gag->rebbit->gamergoobers->censorshipfucks/anticensorshipfucks->can't wait to see what's next).
Generalcancer before the /vg/ split is what truly ruined /v/, and that same behavior is what keeps /v/ in the gutter. A truly original thread will get no posts because there's no memeing involved. They endlessly port beg and act superior when they can't wait for the latest emulator to play games everyone else played a decade ago with buttery smooth 17fps and then claim PC always wins.
The PC master race subreddit is ok at times, but the bending over backwards for AMD is awful. Most people buy NVIDIA cards simple because they are better then what AMD offers.

What makes a horror game good? Like genuinely good?
I have the feeling making a great horror game that doesn't rely on cheap and shallow tactics (e.g. jump scares) might just be one of the hardest thing to get right in the gaming industry.
But what makes a horror game good and what are some horror games that got it right?
I would say

Every person I've met who calls jump scares cheap or bad horror end up being pussies who almost never watch or play horror-related things.
They basically want RE4: a game that isn't horror but has horror aesthetics and only tries to scare you maybe twice.

Does this game get good?
I just want another KOTOR. I just traveled to the first non-hostile area where there are a bunch of different alien races, so I'm pretty early in the game. I'm not having much fun desu. Does it get better?
No. I hated it. Don't get me wrong, some of the world building was stellar. The alien races are really cool and its often interesting to interact. Even some if the locations are interesting.
Unfortunately the game us a bit ugly and its just really nasty to play. Its stiff and horrible. It's not quite enough RPG or Shooter. it isn't nearly as bad as Fallout like that, but it's certainly a flaw.
It's a serious shame that it isn't enjoyable to play.
I personally enjoyed 2 a lot more, it's much more polished even if the plot isn't as grand.
