Chikane didn't die for this shit.
Also played War of the Lilies. Despite being labeled an RPG it really has only two turn-based fights with no combat animations that is impossible to lose unless you're retarded and is petty much a linear VN. Pretty short story about a lesbian queen refusing to enter a political marriage for the sake of producing an heir and running away with her bodyguard lover, framed within a story about a theater troupe putting on a play about said queen. Not the worst way to kill 20 minutes.

My hopes are non-existent since I think it's still a year or three.
As for FO4:Yes, you're married in the beginning but the guy/husband gets gotted within the first half hour right in front of your face. You still have a son though. Bigger spoilersthere's some speculation based around leaked stuff that one of the endings has you do something to make a replicant of your dead hubby/waifu but that seems more up to the player so it can be avoided.
It's basically giving you a way to either move on or resign yourself. However best french companion is romance-able and female.

Written in the Sky is straightforward yuri with an okay sex scene. I wouldn't say it's worthwhile, exactly, but if you don't have anything better to do for 15 minutes then why not.

In my opinion, I don't really like the idea that there's got to be some fixed way a female character should behave. And if not, that's "wrong" or something. It's really a matter of taste or preferences.

Your rationalization is only one possibility, but in an open world game like this a lot of people want to make their characters wholly their own. It isn't too unreasonable for people to want a sense of freedom over what they can imagine their character's life was like.
Never know, Bethesda themselves might unlock the option in an upcoming patch if enough people are making noise about it. If not, someone out there will mod the game to swap out the female character's husband storyline for a wife,and then everyone can be happy that their lesbian character has a dead wife.

I don't have high hopes for Bethesda's writing at any point in this game, but I can roleplay in my own head perfectly well enough, and the game runs very well- except the FOV reverts to 80 automatically, seemingly.
Also I only spent like 15 minutes on character creation, but it's actually gives pretty good results, at least in the creation screen. She sort of looks like Padma Lakshmi.

The way things are now, it seems kinda pointless to buy the game, since the modding community didn't catch up yet, and the vanilla version is... meh.
Post-apocalyptic lesbians are fine and all, but no true love is possible without a decent lip sync.

It seems Bethesda knew it was throwing the players who wanted a gay character under the bus and tried to half heartedly be "more inclusive" with the lesbian npcs and whatnot. But even in their mobile game I was bothered that you could only make babies "the old fashion way" as they stated. Like what is up with their insistence on procreation. Fallout 3 actually managed to do this a bit better. At least in that game you spent some actual time with your dad to form some kind of vaguely emotional connection. 4 doesn't even manage to clear that very low bar.
New Vegas handles it 'best', I think. I doesn't try to convince you you're searching for somebody out of the love you, the player, probably don't actually feel, it tries to convince you to chase the guy because that asshole shot *you* in the face (and not some NPC you don't care about) and left you for dead and that's a good enough setup for a revenge plot.
Of course, New Vegas wasn't written by Bethesda, so it's no wonder it has a more adequate setup.

I've got some mixed feelings about Hanako Games.
Long Live the Queen, I felt, was their worst game. You could train the princess in all sorts of ways, but most of those were wrong and you could be doomed without knowing you were doomed. That's not much fun.
Magical Diary was OK. I appreciated how the different dungeons had multiple solutions so you could solve 'em with different kinds of magic. But it was a bit too anime Harry Potter for my tastes.
Black Closet's pretty fun. The basic goal of just staying in power until graduation is somewhat challenging, but still not very difficult if you know what you're doing. And if that's too easy, then there's still the more difficult stuff like uncovering the conspiracy, getting a lesbian slave and driving a girl insane with love. If you feel like it.

I wouldn't want to be stuck with an adopted child any more than I want the blood-related child. I dislike the fact that they force this family situation on the player, period. Even if you could have a same-sex spouse, I'd still prefer the option to start out single. This, combined with the fact that your character has a voice and actual lines, speaking frequently outside of your control, takes a lot away from the role playing value.
All of this would be fine in a game with a static character, but if you're gonna have character customization, you should give the played as big a canvas as possible.

Even western RPGs generally push some backstory on the player, it's pretty difficult not to. Your father was murdered by Howe! Your father is actually the God of War! You work for the organisation that seeks out Sourcery! Etc.
It's hard to have much of a plot without a few fixed reference points for the PC. This one just happened to choose reference points that sit poorly with us.

I plan to play a male character first in 4 and I still think it's a little weird. In NV, you were pretty much a blank slate and the story played out fine. I've heard a lot of complaints about the 'roleplaying' aspect. Yeah I feel like Long Live the Queen is something you kind of have to be into to enjoy, otherwise it will just be frustrating. That being said, I love it, and the fact that it has gotten a number of free updates is very nice. I also really enjoy the political side of it as I play a lot of other games with that kind of stuff, but I always focus on other things in my playthroughs and never get to really appreciate all the political shit that is going on in the background. I feel like it could benefit heavily from a quick map with family trees that could be accessed from the pause menu. I also feel like more ways were added to avoid deaths? Like I don't remember being able to use court manners to ignore the chocolates before. Could be completely wrong on that though, as I got a dog in every run to avoid that event after I had it once or twice.
Speaking of which you can be a villain in it, and there are several yuri ends. One or two of which involve people basically being your sex slaves I believe, for that anon who wanted yuri villains.
I never finished a game of magical diary for some reason but I enjoyed it. I guess I was never aware of how much /u/ was in it when I played it, and so my goals always revolved around other things instead. Kept getting in this loop of wanting to restart to find out all the different ways to solve the puzzles and trying to become class president.
Black Closet I played long before the current release and enjoyed it quite a bit, though after the first game I had figured out most of the ways to solve the majority of the cases which made things a little repetitive, I am not sure if updates since then has fixed that up. The gameplay is very unique and interesting, and that boss fight was pretty great.

In Fallout 1 and 2, you're sent from your vault/village to find the McGuffin they need to survive. If you ignore the main quest for too long, the game ends. I don't really remember what happens in Fallout 3, but your dad Liam Neeson plays a prominent role. New Vegas is the outlier.

The Rising Angels series is from IDHAS Studios, while Brilliant Shadows is from Ithaqua Labs. Also, while IDHAS still likes tragedy in their stories, it seems that starting with Reborn, the true love interest is female. The only person whose route you get in the free version of the upcoming game Fates is Zuri, so to romance anyone else, you need to get the paid version. The other yuri routes are in the paid version: Kika, Akurel, and Alexi. In the free version of Fates when you take the perspective of Natalie's sister, Name, she can only romance a man, but in the paid version she gets 2-3 female romance options, including Faye (the one who lost her female love interest to a man in the original game).

There is some connection between Ithaqua and IDHAS though I'm not clear what it is. They're not the same people. It may be that they're just friends, or it may be that IDHAS originally hired them to make the game and then gave them back the story and they went off to make it on their own. I'm not sure.
That said, though, much of what people have been saying about the game here is being blown out of proportion. The protagonist is clearly a lesbian. It's not a game with romance options (I think it was originally a kinetic novel, no choices at all), it's about the protagonist's long and often-frustrated search for love. So yes, she gets turned down along the way. However, the supposed scene with the guard is because it WASN'T the same person in the bath, this is made pretty clear if you're actually reading it. The love interest is explicitly female and only tries to take on a male form because she doesn't realise that the protagonist is into girls and thinks that being a man is the only way to win her heart.

Part of me absolutely hates the idea of what Bethesda did with the marriage thing, it reeks of lame retardation and a pretty much done to not make waves with the boicoting fags that cry everytime the concept of gay people having kids surfaces.
That said one of my favorite games is Vampire The Masquerade and that starts with your character having sex with a member of the opposite gender no matter what...and you could be gay as fuck in that game, thou the lesbian options were obviously favored considering the blood dolls you could use...i'm sure Bethesda's new Fallout is going to be of comparable writing quality to VTM, right?...top kek
