There's one thing I don't get. Why would Lex Luthor, ultra billionaire, know a reporter for one of many newspapers? By first name basis, even.
he doesn't want to pick a fight with that person
>>63349689
Probably knows everyone coming to the party.
>>63349770
But the way he talks about him is like they're best buddies or some shit.
ITT people who only get work because they are Jews
>>63349645
Levitt is decent imo, he probably gets more movies than a similar gentile actor would but he isn't annoying like say eisenberg whom i cant stand.

Now I would be the first person to be in favor of /film/. But given that the current catalog, when cleared of threads about television as well as Star Wars, capeshit, comic books, celebrity, cunny, memespouting, greentexting etc. threads looks this sad, I'm thinking that a new board devoted to a somewhat serious discussion of films would be a failure and completely open to shitposters unless the moderation takes a very, very tough stance right from the beginning.
For some reason, 4chan is one of the shittiest places on the Internet to discuss films.
tell me again why it wouldn't have Star Wars discussion?
>hidden threads 106
christ /film/ is doomed
>I want to discuss films
Darren Aronofsky was supposed to direct The Wolverine, what would that have even been like?
Shit. Do you think the studio would let him try anything that's not easy to sell?

Imagine noah but this time he has claws and is a drug addict in japan.
this is how I feel in regards to film and television. Everything seems to be dropping in quality and originality.
a young movie director nowdays will at most get a big project from a studio with very little control. why make something new when you can make die hard 6?
how is this fixable?
>>63349085
The ability to make a film by yourself is stronger than ever. You don't need millions of dollars backing you, and you can make something emotionally powerful and downright artistic with some consumer grade gear. The independent market is stronger than ever and you can get exposure via the internet and so forth.
If you feel there is something seriously lacking with contemporary films, then go out and make better. Make something honest and authentic.
>how is this fixable?
first try to find empirical grounds to believe in your hypothesis. if you look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_directorial_debuts you will notice that actually there has been an increase of directorial debuts over time, which seems to imply the opposite.
>>63349214
Then why are independent movies shittier than ever.
Because everything has turned into either blockbuster shit or hipstercore. There's no middle ground anymore
comfy shows thread
watching forsenic files now
The only one to me is That 70s Show. Jokes are sometimes unfunny but the atmosphere was so great that everytime I watch it I can feel like I'm on a comfy sofa even if I stand.

You guys know that wasn't doomsday right? It is most likely gonna be Subjekt 17. Why the fuck would they waste Doomsday on the second movie?
>I-it's not Doomsday, g-guys!
>It's this other totally different character that appeared in 2 issues and no one cares about
>>63349003
No Warner Bros exec is going to know about fucking Subjekt 17.
Making it Doomsday mines casuals for their memories of Death of Superman. It's much more normie friendly. And Doomsday has some actual shity fans out there.
>>63349003
>You guys know that wasn't doomsday right?
Dude. Come on. Affleck's Deathstroke too right?
I want to see what all the fuss is about, but everyone says not to start with Season 1.
Where's a good entry point for this?
>>63348984
>Where's a good entry point for this?
Season 1
Start where ever you want. There isn't that much chronology to that show.
Season 1
>>63349221
don't listen to this idiot. A lot of side characters return and make references to previous things the Gang has done and consequences from episodes
Just start with Season 1 and don't stop. Some episodes might be off but it's consistently good for the most part.
This movie sucks

>Don't bring up Ang Lee or any other asian that is not American
I'm not Asian myself, but it really puzzles me how America until today does not really have any iconic Asian American directors or actors for that matter? It's about time don't you think?
>imagine Kurosawa was American
>would have made great Asian American or even American stories
Jackie Chan is an American Icon
