It's a great movie. I still don't fully understand it though. So I can't offer a good analysis. Something is rotten in denmark is all I can say as of now. There seems to be a menacing force throughout the movie as soon as the title screen opens. It is an erotically oppressive force. There's some erotic game going on and a grander narrative that we aren't seeing, that we only get to erotically touch.
It's annoying though because I still can't figure it out, it irks my autism extremely.
I love the creepy cult vibe and the buildup to the orgy. It had a very exciting feel to it; but i feel like the film kinda drops after that. Nothing gets resolved and the vibe dies. But i guess thats the point? Unfulfilled sexual desires

I really like the House Of Flying Daggers, The Curse of the golden flower and Hero movies. What are good similar movies, with as good cinematography and style? A woman a gun and a noodleshop was amazing as was the flowers of war.

While both great, they diminish in quality a tad near the end of their seasons.
Overall they're still both fairly remarkable shows.
Excited for Daredevil Season Two -- I'm going to miss Murdock's first suit.
I've posted this same opinion here ten thousand times, but Jessica Jones really is an 8 episode story told in 13 episodes. It actually pissed me off how characters that should have been relegated to secondary roles needed to have their own emotional beats in the later episodes.
And we never got to see Purple Man actually turn purple. That would have been SO FUCKING GREAT for him to have his last hurrah as a hideous freak. Weak ass creative decision.

Now imagine you're a 13 year old boy and you have to convince them to go see it because you're the target audience for this dumb bullshit. Imagine attempting to explain what space marines are, why they're ten feet tall, why there are fucking hellspawn demons and cultists everywhere, who the fuck the Emperor is and why he isn't a bad guy but still kind of is.

it's plausible if done right. There have been 40k videogames with cutscenes in them. Saw one on youtube(forgot which game or addon it was) where a dreadnaught picks up an eldar and says, "I'VE COME TO DESTROY YOU." while crushing it, which was cool. Spinoff movies like Necromunda and Space Hulk might make good movies too.
