I understand The Jungle Book, but I just can't picture this.
The original book series starred a bunch of velveteen dolls so I'd imagine they'd look similar to those toys, although that'd still be pretty jarring.
Honestly, I'm in the same boat as you. Going with their established looks from the cartoons with a CGI veneer would be equally as jarring.
They'll look like CGI versions of the toys in Christopher Robin's room in a realistic hundred-acre-wood. Christopher Robin will be the only live-action part, everything else will be 100% CGI.
>They'll never be a live-action Russian Winnie the Pooh.
Hey /tv/, what are some definitive cop films/series? I was a big fan of the first season of True Detective, and while the methodical police work took a backdrop in favor of a more focused character study, it was an interesting view into their life despite being a bit stylised. Any other suggestions?
Hill Street Blues
Homicide: Life on the Street
Miami Vice
Law & Order
NYPD Blue
Reno 911
Southland was a great look at Los Angeles for a bit.
End of Watch is good.

Any good movies based around theme parks?
>>67872606
Y'know, I can think of a really famous one that came out about 20 years ago and spawned multiple sequels along with a media franchise. If you think about it for a minute, you'll remember it too.
However in fairness, the story is not essentially "about" a theme park. that was just more of a consumerist wrinkle to the fundamentally interesting aspect of the premise, making for a modern story.

Westworld
>>67872606
The Way Way Back at least took place in a theme park for a good chunk of the story. Pretty good movie too.
People actually forget or don't know this movie wasn't released at the most optmistic times. Gas crisis, watergate, violence, cold war. And yet its optimistic and light and has a huge fucking heart.

zack snyder didn't have mario puzo write his screenplay
that was his fault, david goyim's fingerprints were all over bvs
superman returns has heart too doesn't mean it's good

but at least it had heart.
Without resorting to "because it's actually a good show" or "TWD is pleb", explain why Sopranos cut-to-black ending was satisfying and/or well-done while Walking Dead's was not.
sopranos wasn't trying to milk viewers for another season
>>67872375
most people hated the sopranos ending when it happened
sopranos finale was a conclusion of a journey, not a cash-grab ploy
Is anybody watching this show but me?
I’m disappointed at the lack of actual 1970s music on the show (apparently HBO doesn’t want to pay for it) and it’s got the now predictable annoying-wife-causes-problems-for-her-husband trope we see in all tv series nowadays but I dig the 70s setting and Juno Temple is cute as always (love the blue eye shadow).
I kinda let it go a few episodes ago, is it getting better?
>>67872344
>I’m disappointed at the lack of actual 1970s music on the show
I watched 4 episodes and there's always music playing every 5 minutes

It gets better every episode
so why exactly is he in a wheelchair and is mute?

So, I've never seen Pulp Fiction before. So I decided to watch it two days ago, and since I've watched it 3x already. What are you guys talking about? How contrarian can you guys be?
>>67871955
what the fuck is your problem
Pulp Fiction is great when you're not acquainted with Tarantino's works
Once you've seen 5 or 6 Tarantino films you realize it's all the same shit he's doing. All superficial homages. There are no characters. Just different faces reading out the same Tarantino dialogue. He's like a self indulgent autistic kid ripping off bits from different dolls and sewing them together. It becomes sickening, like when you have too much of one cake.
>>67872060
Its real cool to hate tarantino these days. You can't be a true film geek unless you have all kinds of bullshit to say about his body of work.
He's one of the few people that can write decent dialogue anymore.

That's just who he is as a character. He wants them alive to produce for him. He's just making an example. The rest will get the message.
