It's on Amazon Prime, and I've been wondering if I should watch it.
I've only seen the first one, unfortunately, so I can't tell you about the other ones (that matter) but the first was surprisingly not as FotNS as I thought it was going to be; it's pretty much just a cop revenge story set in Australia.

I feel like that was a time when budgets were high enough that you got quality products, but the huge blockbuster culture wasn't there yet so you had studios that were satisfied doing well on video/rental.
