Bellwether isn't as simple as "All x are x".
She's a character that had to deal with being on the short end of the stick for probably all of her life but I don't think her kindness and bashfulness was an act either.
She seems to treat everyone basically the same but still has an underlying hate for people that push her around. To me it didn't seem like she hated predators as much as she hated being bullyable and once she found out a way to get into power and stay in power, she did what she had to do.
I just find it weird to say she hates all predators because they boss her around when there are predators like Mrs. Otterton that are smaller and just as sweet as her.

Not sure about euphemisms, but an actual sushi boat is usually a little boat shaped tray that they used to use in sushi restaurants.
The idea was similar to a buffet, only with a conveyor belt style system; you sit down at the "belt" and plates of sushi run down. You pick what plates you want, and let what you don't want pass on to the next customer at the counter.
They used to be popular in the around the 70s/80s, but are usually regarded as tacky by today's standards, so most sushi places just stick to the standard ordering system.
But like I said, it could be referring to a euphemism I'm not familiar with.
