Fun fact about the Rags: They have lost 2 consecutive games only 5 times this season. Pretty much makes them one of the most consistent teams in the MLB
Sox need continue their series win streak to solidly get in WC contention.
Cards need to farm some wins off the brewers can get back in a WC slot and hold it.
They've won fucking 15 games at home in one of the best stadiums in the MLB and I was there for 3 of them.

It's not mild herniation. A guy as strong and fit as Kershaw wouldn't be effected so much by a mild herniation. When you're fit, your muscles help support your spine and help alleviate the pain from the two vertebrae putting pressure on that weakened/herniated disc that cause disc "bulging" and inflamation which cause nerve pain. For him to be in enough pain where he's missing starts my guess he has had a damaged disc for a couple years now and now it has gotten bad enough to really hurt him.
It's an incredibly demoralizing injury since it really never improves since current medical science doesn't quite understand it yet, especially in young fit men. Surgery has a good chance of making it worse and isn't worth it for a young man. A lot of guys in their 60s opt for disc replacement even considering its low success rate because they're old and dont give a fuck. If it gets worse, they can just live the short rest of their life on hydrocodone.
I have a fucked up disc, and I exercise and stretch to a fucking T of what my PT tells me to and follow up with a good soak in the tub and the fucking thing still bothers me. I can't imagine dealing with it as an elite mlb pitcher. And again, I'm just some schmuck, not Clayton Kershaw, so I can imagine how bad his fucked up disc has to be to be causing him such issues when he's having such an amazing season.

Tim wakes up the next morning with Buster's arm slung around his body. His back is pressed up against Buster, providing him some needed heat as they're still above the covers and the air conditioning in the room was set a little too high all night. It's a nice feeling though, he feels protected and safe in Buster's arms.
He quickly realizes that he needs to get out of bed and into the shower though, because they really made a mess last night, most of which went onto his body. It's a little sticky and just feels... gross. So, Tim gets out of Buster's grip and into the shower, not having to strip himself of any clothes first.
It really hits him once he gets into the shower. He just had sex with Buster Posey. It was damn good sex too, it really was the best he'd ever had. "Well, I, uh, enjoyed it..." Tim decides to be honest upfront. The awkwardness in the room could be cut with a knife.
"I guess that's good because honestly, I really did too."
Neither of them really know what to say and an awkward silence fills the room. Buster gets up and puts his shirt and pants on while Tim packs some stuff in his suitcase. Buster walks over to him and gives him a kiss before saying "See ya later" and walks out.
This is all way too confusing for him.
