A lot of people are underestimating how badly he lost the fight. First of all, the punch that rocked him? A diaz 1-2 isn't meant to put anyone down, and it didn't put mcgregor down at least physically. But it did hurt him, just a little and in his gassed state goobs just shut down. Specialty fighters (tyson in the inside, rousey on the sub) tend to fold once their specialty stops working. Goobs is a left hand fighter who uses head movement to avoid getting hit. Once he started getting tagged his defense almost instantaneously collapsed, and instead of adapting to diaz he instead kept on with the (trying to) head movement and tried to save face. I'll wager that Conors sweep in the first was largely of Conors effort, although diaz doesn't have the best ground control in lw. It might have boosted Conors confidence on the ground and have led to his td in the second. However it's not likely that conor didn't know that in his gassed state he could out grapple nate, despite the memes. His entire game plan got crumpled by the lesser diaz and then he went for a td to avoid getting ko'd. Goobs probably doesn't have a lot of mental fortitude left, especially with the social media stuff
