Cosart, Singleton, and Santana on the Phillies of 2013+ would not put the Phillies in a better position. Singleton is a WORSE fielder than ruf, and would ride the pine or give up runs in left, Cosart would be an injury prone run machine, and Domingo Santana is shit.
I'll say that the haul in moving him to SF wasn't good, but 100/100 times I would do the houston trade given what we gave up has amounted to.

He has been, since last August, our MOST RELIABLE pitcher on the entire staff. In two game this season he's given up a combined 3 ERs against the BLUE JAYS LINEUP.
And he's gone the deepest of all of our starters aside from Price. But in his games he hasn't gotten any fucking help from the offense,which is just crazy considering how potent it is on every other day of the week with shitters like Buttholez and 117M grapes pitching.
It literally infuriates me. He's our #5 starter when he's literally our second best pitcher, and hes THE most underrated story in Boston Sports right now.

1) Since you can basically describe the history of a game relying solely on stats, what's the point in actually watching a game? Is it just for the crazy and funny shit that happens in all these webms I've seen? (Serious question no trolling)
2) Let's say a team has a runner on third base with two outs and the batter hits a very high fly ball. The runner is safe at home before the defense catches the fly ball. Does the run count? (Pardon any jargon mistakes)
3) Should I pick a team to root for? If so, which one? Or should I just embrace the comfiness and watch whatever game is on?

1) Sure you can read a box score and see what happens in any given game, but you can read a play by play for any sport instead of watching it.
2) No. the run does not count. But if there is a play that is not a force out (caught fly ball or ground ball caught and thrown to a base, stepped on base for an out) then the run will count as long as the runner is called safe before the out is called.
Example: Runner on second 2 outs, base hit to the right fielder, runner from 2nd scores but the batter gets greedy and is thrown out at second after the run scores to end the inning. The run still counts.
3) watch games of various teams, get familiar with the sport and pick a team whose players/play style you like.

the process to me seems a hell of a lot more rigorous than any other sport. You look at a minor league prospect, you know exactly how often he's hitting at his level, how many times he's significantly fucked up, etc etc from a sample of more games than most nfl athletes will play in their career.
In soccer and football, you got a whole ton of guys that have no distinct better-than-average values than the others, particularly in some positions. Even comparable stats are pretty meaningless because of the fluidity of the games.
