According to some stats from 2012 16% of the game is used on scrums or around 13minutes. For reference total time the ball is in play ends up around 35minutes. The majority of time used on scrums has to be the general fucking around. Water boys, stretching, having a chat with the ref. I would love to know how many minutes are wasted on that alone every game.
