>my face when "people" actually think the team with the best defense and a top 10 offense in the NFL will miss the playoffs this season

>Alex Smith (objectively and statistically a top 15 QB, it isn't even debatable)
>Jamaal Charles (best RB in the game who will be 100% healthy, unlike the entirety of last year, he will put up 1,000+YDs/10+TDs/5.0+YPC,)
>Travis Kelce (a top 3 TE already and going into this season will be fully recovered from knee surgery 2 offseasons ago, 1000+YDs/7+TDs)
>James O'Shaughnessy (literally a Travis Kelce-clone)
>Jeremy Maclin (top 15 WR, 900+YDs/5+TDs)
>Chris Conley (a white guy trapped in a black's body, one of the smartest players in football, elite measurables, incredible upside)
>DAT (one of the fastest and most explosive players in football)
>Anthony Sherman (best FB in NFL)

>Best pass rush in the NFL
>Best LB corp in the NFL
>Best secondary in the AFC
>Top 5 D-Line

Barring major injuries to key players, there is literally no way the Chiefs are missing the playoffs this season

I'm a new Broncos fan, and I was just wondering, how do Patsfags here cope with being bandwagons?

I'm not really a bandwagon in the sense that I hop around to winning teams, more so I can't ever settle on any one given team. I'm between the Raiders and Broncos now, and I am leaning toward the Broncos.

What coach can fix the titans to being a winning team

I think if we're able to land either Derrick Henry or Joey Bosa it's a wrap for the division with an actual competent coach

It seems like the year to bomb was last season though since all the new coaches seem pretty good

Problem with passer rating is that it's not objectively correct

Going by rating is saying Mccown is better than Luck and Newton

Which some will memeironically say yes, but let's be honest it's not true.

I just think cutler has been playing like a top 10 quarterback and leading his team to wins that they shouldn't have been winning, the defense also plays a big part in that, but I don't know maybe it's just me

Updated my new scale that takes only the results of the season so far into account, no other stats. The basis for the methodology was derived from these four ideas:
>1. Winning should make a team's rating go up and losing should make it go down, never the reverse.
>2. Teams with high ratings should have less to gain by winning than they can lose by losing, and the opposite is true for teams with low ratings.
>3. Teams should gain more by beating a highly rated team than by beating a low rated team, and fall harder from losing to a low rated team than losing to a highly rated team.
>4. The results should be recursive so that all games in the season are held to the current context of results, not the context at the time.

1. 1.000 Carolina Panthers
2. 0.973 New England Patriots
3. 0.890 Denver Broncos

jeffrey and bennet have both been injured

That's why I think he's been playing like a top 10 qb

Even with Royal, Bennett, Forte, and Jeffrey injured he's somehow scoring points and not turning the ball over

I hope the Bears can make it in the playoffs, they only have to beat the Vikings and the Seahawks need to lose to Vikings and Cardinals or maybe the Rams which is likely

It's not really a fair comparison in those stats because Carr only plays 16 games a year while Teddy will be playing at least 18 a year because he actually has more of the stat that matters.

>>63921407
Bullshit, every time someone starts dick sucking about Carr having a lucky game everyone brings up how the Vikings should have drafted him. Actual Vikings fans can see that Teddy is a better over all QB in the end and should get more recognition considering how important he is to a team that is a top seeded playoff team.

Since I'm sure other pats fans have bitched about it, I'm reposting this.

I'm a pats fan and you other patriot fans bitching about this refball shit are fucking retarded.

You know why NE actually lost?

1) special teams fumble
2) Inability to stop the run once Hightower was out
3) Ryan, while having a great game, getting beat down the field

and the most egregious and obvious reason why they lost

4) Piss poor clock management in the 4th quarter.

Denver didn't have a single timeout with 3 minutes to go and NE had a first down. What did McDaniels call? Three straight passing plays, one resulting in gronk getting hurt. Why didn't they just run the fucking ball?

The same can be said of the end of the second half. They had more than a minute and they just ran the ball three straight times despite solid field position.

New England lost because of shitty decisions by the coaching staff in fourth and a key fumble. get the fuck over it already. For fucks sake, they're 10-1 which is better than every team in the AFC and NE will still win at least 4 of their remaining games.

Use your fucking heads you dumbfucks.

I have no doubt that Peterson can stay in the league until he's 35. The point is that the Vikings offense needs him to be the best RB in the league in order to move the ball and he's not going to be that for another 5 years
>>
>>63921741

>Brady proved he can't do shit with no weapons around him, which isn't saying much because every QB needs at least something to work with.

I thought the big deal about New England was meant to be that the receivers and backs were literally whos and the were pretty much replaceable players in Belichick's 'system'.

One injury-heavy loss comes along and suddenly they're all GOAT and the only reason why the Pats failed.

Which is it? Is it Brady and Belichick or is it top offensive corps?

and they still lost by over 2 scores. I wouldn't count on them giving up that much again since Kirkpatrick has gone from complete shit at that time to average. Burfict coming back has also really helped the defense get called correctly and be in the right position which were the main problems
>>
>>63921766
emmitt smith is the exception, not the rule
allen was able to play forever because he was underused in oakland because al davis hated him

it's really hard to take the punishment of being an NFL running back for so long
>>63921810
the pats have never had that many "star" players, but they have usually had capable role players and volume receivers, guys who get a ton of receptions because they play great in the slot and brady can get them the ball
the current "corps" is one of the worst in the NFL outside brady, gronk, and i guess vollmer
they can do more without the stars some teams have on their top offenses, but they can't work miracles with no one

Same, I think Teddy has the most upside and most potential to be great but Carr is having a better year so far on paper. I think Carr will probably be a career backup realistically but good for him being a starter for Oakland this year I guess.

It doesnt matter. I picked up Saints back in 2008/9 or so. Just in time to watch part of that glorious owl.
The reason I picked them is, ive met a bro from NO who has roots in my country and visits my town every year. He introduced me to football past the yuropean stereotypes about it, and I instantly loved the Saints story.

Does this make me a bandwagoner or "not a real fan"?

I've honestly thought about this, I feel like ONLY non-fans of these teams want us to not like each other.

There really wasn't a rivalry born during that Oakland vs MN game, I felt something though.

>In 1996 while attending the University of Tennessee, it is alleged that Manning, while being examined by a female trainer, pulled down his shorts and sat on the trainer's face. He proceeded to rub his rectum and testicles on the woman's face until she was able to free herself from him.[228][229] Within hours of the incident, the trainer reported Manning's actions to the Sexual Assault Crisis Center in Knoxville.[229] Manning claimed that he did not do what the trainer alleged and was just mooning teammates across the room. Despite Manning's denial, several eyewitnesses confirmed the trainer's account. According to court documents, Manning taunted the trainer by re-enacting the incident on two occasions and called her a "bitch" after she attempted to give him a drug test. The trainer later settled with the university for $300,000 and left the school. In Manning's autobiography, he described the trainer as having a "vulgar mouth". As a result of this comment, the trainer was demoted from her job as Program Director at Florida Southern College. Copies of Manning's book were distributed on the campus and the trainer received threatening letters. The trainer sued for defamation, resulting in an undisclosed settlement and a court-ordered gag on Manning ever talking about the incident again. Court documents raised questions about the veracity of Manning's account. In denying a request for dismissal, Polk County Circuit Judge Harvey A. Kornstein stated "[e]ven if the plaintiff is a public figure, the evidence of the record contains sufficient evidence to satisfy the court that a genuine issue of material fact exists that would allow a jury to find, by clear and convincing evidence, the existence of actual malice of the part of the defendants", going on to say that "there is evidence of record, substantial enough to suggest that the defendants knew that the passages in question were false".[230]

True, a silly decision by Harper to try and field that punt, should have left it, but probably wanted to try and make the catch in an effort to prove himself.

Chances are he wasn't sticking on the roster anyway, wonder if the Patriots maybe look to bring in another WR at his roster spot, maybe promote a LB from the Practice Squad in an effort to try and fill the void left by Hightower?

Luke kuechly and Thomas Davis are literal game changers. Luke literally plays a chess match against qbs and has sideline to sideline speed. He missed 3 & half games this year and he is putting up better stats then other linebackers. He does it all and very well

Thomas Davis sr is the first player in history to come back from 3 torn acls and play at a high level. He was drafted to shut down Vick. He makes some truly nasty tackles.

Together these guys just wreck havoc. Kuechly would literally strip the ball and davis would recover. There is a reason we have only allowed 45 yards rushing in 2 games.

We also have Thomas Davis sr heir Shaw Thompson to learn from the master. He delivered a brutal tackle in Tennessee and should continue to mature. We also have aj Klein who is a less athletic kuechly. He is very smart and did admirably she kuechly was hurt.

Carolina doesn't just have great linebackers (they are the best in the league) we have depth too.

Peyton is probably going to go to the Jets and they're going to make a deep playoff run and so the world can watch 2 more Brady vs Manning games, then he'll probably die on the field in championship from getting his arm hit
>>
>>63923480
>Luke kuechly and Thomas Davis are literal game changers.
So are Jamie Collins and Hightower.

See: last night's game where Anderson ran for 10000 yards and had the game winning run.

That doesn't happen if either Collins or Hightower are playing.

Broncos are going to become terrible

Once Manning leaves they're like 8-8 since they spent money on aging free agents that'll eventually go down hill. So they'll always be a qb away from the playoffs but a couple good palyers from getting one.

They're royally fucked and they'll probably be bad for like 10 years because of this and no super bowl to show from it

Pretty rough luck really

Go after a team that isn't good now but will be in a year or two
>>
>>63923485
Don't listen to that guy you don't wanna pick a shitty team especially if you don't even live in the same state. Pick a team with either a bright future or a rich heritage. Broncos have both now with Osweiler.

Not a broncos fan but no team is bad for Ten years over a QB. Hell, even the redskins who traded 3 firsts and a second for a QB that will be cut in the off season wont be.

Brock Osweiler has 2 to 3 years max to prove it and if he can't then they will look elsewhere. There window is already closing with a lot of their talent wanting megabucks and leaving and some draft picks not panning out.

They may even go free agency again and try to buy a ring which never works.
Honestly I think the raiders will eventually take over with the chargers and chiefs flaming out. The broncos always seem to find a way to stay relevant so who knows.

The patriots have good linebackers but kuechly and davis are on another level. They literally have the lowest rushing total in NFL history in a 2 game span. The redskins and cowboys only ran for a combined total of 45 yards. Luke kuechly had more yards and a touchdown from Tony romo then dez Bryant.

There is a reason Luke kuechly won defensive player of the year.>>63923830
>had last
To be fair the raiders made one shitty quarterback decision after another.

All three had badly run organizations just like the browns who make very bad decisions consistently. The raiders changed their shit and seem like they are on the rise. Denver doesn't seem to make many bad decisions. They have made some but most of their free agents that spread across the NFL are over paid and not producing.

imo top-to-bottom conference strength wasn't actually that lopsided, it's just that the 49ers and Cowboys had two of the best sports dynasties ever and the Bears showed up with possibly the single most stacked team in NFL history
Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Oakland, Miami, Denver, and Buffalo at different times all had some amazingly good teams during that period it's just that the very top level was much better in the NFC, and that happens to be what superbowls are about
