Oklahoma schools collectively knocked TCU out. OU knocked Baylor out. Baylor knocked OSU out. In a way I guess it would be fitting if OSU knocked OU out and the conference cannibalized itself.
Maybe if they get shut out of the playoff again it will make OU and/or Texas actually think about testing that grant of rights. Hopefully it can put the Big 12 out of its misery.

The conference championship thing is way overblown. The Big 12 doesn't get in because they have no a) undefeated teams and b) good OOC wins. Their best OOC win is like, Tennessee. Every other conference has some that trickle up to whatever team decides to represent them (Iowa > NW > Stanford for example), except the Big 12. Except the Pac-12 but they suck anyway.
>>63720556
That may or may not happen. The committee puts a lot more weight on conference championship game winner than conference champion. They also look at common opponents, which might be very relevant.

>>63720527
I've heard rumors that Boren contradicting what Bowlsby was trying to sell and not shutting the fuck up about how the Big 12 needed to expand and add a championship while everyone else was at least trying to present a unified front in public was his way of saying "we're not happy and if you don't do something about it we're not afraid to walk."
Also, look at who they've selected as their "academic peers" in the last few years. Every single public school in the Big Ten is on that list. I don't have much doubt that Oklahoma's trying to position themselves for a jump to the B1G first chance they get.

Exactly. They did that to try and get TCU in at #4, but everyone knew in their heart of hearts that the way the rules work is that Baylor wins the conference. I'd be so pissed if I was a Baylor fan.

A&M, Kansas, Mizzou, Iowa State, Nebraska, and the other SEC and B1G schools (even fucking Wisconsin, who threw Nebraska under the bus after the realignment) vouched for OU but Texas blocked their nomination every time because they knew it would mean a move to the B1G. Right now it has to be Baylor and OU over AT LEAST Notre Dame and Iowa.

I'd kick out Rutgers and Maryland
Add Notre Dame and Kentucky (Notre Dame Catholic fanbase covers the loss of TV coverage from Rutgers and Maryland, Kentucky faces actual competition in basketball and brings in money via National Titles)
All while keeping the Big 10 within a 6 hour drive from one another.
>>63721484
I can see the committee cuhking in ND over Sparty, though. You have to remember, they're still owned by ESPN and will do whatever they think will give them the best revenue, which as it stands is ND > OU > Bama > Sparty > Clemson > Iowa, but if Clemson stays undefeated their hands are tied.

Take out brand names and pre-2015-season wins, and look at the resumes of Notre Dame, Alabama, Michigan State, and Oklahoma. Objectively speaking, who has looked the best out of those four?
If youre not a fan of:

Depends how you weight good wins vs bad losses, but
MSU
OU
Bama slightly ahead of ND
Not a ton of separation among any of them though.
>>63722520
in any case
OUs loss was terrible
>>63722526
1. MSU
2. OU

K-State has one win in conference, ISU has 2 and Texas has 3. ISU and Texas each scheduled at least one real team in non conference and Kansas State did not, so KSU does not get credit for scheduled wins.
>>63722534
Oh, so is this a thing about "brand names" too, I guess-

COUGS
the playoff would be so much better if it was just based off the Sagarin rankings, but then ESPN couldn't milk ratings out of their manufactured drama show and the "controversy" that follows.
Michigan State is celebrating their victory by setting things on fire and building snow penises all over campus

I just wanted to thank Michigan for taking a knee in the fourth at the end, as a senior that meant a lot.
T-t-thanks I guess, it eased the pain a little, good luck against those stupid fucking peanuts
>>63722664
not even necessary, rankings are completely objective so if a G5 team deserves to be in they'll find their way into that spot.

OFFICIAL LIST OF TEAMS THAT HAVE BEEN BLATANTLY REFBALL'D OUT OF A WIN THIS SEASON:
Duke
Michigan State
Wisconsin
Am I missing anyone else?
>cfb reddit posters have multiple flair logos
>half of them are rivals
>>63722713
>Duke
They were blatantly refballed to get that win they were refballed out of. Keep them off the list.
>>63722517
They'll get blootybasted soon enough, don't worry.
>>63722713
Duke is the college football equivalent of the Sacramento Kings. On their way to the first ship in their team's history and then the refs and the league say NO. So they just don't even try anymore.
>>63722713
Texas was refballed against Oklahoma State
Kansas State was refballed against Oklahoma State
Iowa State was refballed against Oklahoma State
>>63722716
Reddit CFB is absolute cancer. They have designated banter threads. Their banter is so pathetic too; it's pretty much "HEY LOOK I'M TYPING IN ALL CAPS AND YOUR TEAM IS GONNA LOSE THIS WEEK LOL"
/sp/ is and forever will be the king of banter.
>>63722729
This explains why Oklahoma State was exposed tonight.
>>63722721
Too bad "soon enough" is in the playoffs, wasting that #4 spot. The ND refball is at its strongest against Stanford every year, and then they just take a nap the week after.
I know nobody really gives a shit about the Conference USA, but can we sit back and admire how perfect their division/schedule-makers are?
>Next week's games
>9-2 (7-0 C-USA) Western Kentucky @ 9-2 (6-1 C-USA) Marshall
>8-3 (6-1 C-USA) Southern Miss @ 8-3 (6-1 C-USA) Louisiana Tech
>Winners play each other in the CCG
Like holy fuck I wish the last week of ACC/SEC/Pac-12 league play actually meant something outside of USC/UCLA and potential UNC choking
>>63722751
Marshall is actually @ Western Kentucky, but my point still stands. I love seeing both divisions of a conference settled head-to-head in the last week of the regular season
>>63722744
It's really just gonna come down to the ratings and whichever matchup will get the most views. Notre Dame will only get in if an uninteresting Big 12 team wins the conference next week. In other words...
Complete 100% locks:
1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Michigan State or Iowa
4. Bootyblasters or Big 12 winner
Here's where it gets interesting. The only Big 12 team that has a shot at this point is Oklahoma, simply because they are a big name. If Baylor wins next week and Oklahoma loses, then Notre Dame is in easily. But it's really a toss up between Oklahoma and Notre Dame.
I'm sure that the CFB playoff committee is scrambling to run polls on whether or not the general public would like to see a Clemson - Notre Dame rematch in the playoff. Bottom line is that if the people want to see the rematch Notre Dame will get in. If they don't want to see it, Oklahoma will get in. Every now and then you need to take a step back and remember that jews run the world, and that this entire playoff is ultimately about money. Notre Dame = money.

If Notre Dame gets in we'll see an 8 team playoff within two seasons. There's no way in hell TWO conferences are going to stand for their champions being left out, especially not for Notre Dame, who I think are despised by everyone else in college football.

Decent football IQ and good enough arm mean he'll at least have some success in the NFL. He's nothing special though, nobody is this year, unless Jacoby Brisett somehow un-retards himself.

Thanks for repeating what I said. Sorry that you're too casual to recognize good football games when you see them.
>>63722804
But Notre dame has to beat stanford to get in the playoff. Meaning any Pac 12 champion would have 3 losses. And Notre dame would have beat the team in the Pac 12 with the best division record, so Pac 12 couldn't really bitch about being left out
Don't forget to check out the **GAME OF THE WEEK** featuring Nebraska and Iowa on ABC for the "Star Wars™ Showdown" don't forget to dress up if you're heading to the game and of course go see Star Wars™ opening December 18th 2015 at midnight.

Let's not go saying things we can't take back. I watch fucking UCONN every week because I love it, but you never see me call that shit good. The AAC is a beautiful trainwreck, much like CUSA and the Sun Belt. It's not good though.
>>63722885
But I do understand it's the principle of a conference champion being left out of a playoff expected to represent the whole nation. It should be like the nfl where the champion gets to go to the playoffs regardless of overall record.
>>63722911
>It should be like the nfl where the champion gets to go to the playoffs regardless of overall record.
Fuck that, I don't want to see an 8-5 Wisconsin team in the playoffs. It the cfp expands to 8 teams then it should just take the top 8 teams.
>>63722878
Obviously there are. The real question would be whether they would be able to afford the sports package required to watch those shit-tier games.
>>63722890
They're fun to watch, making them good in my eyes. 66-65 games in mid-majors are shit while the same thing in the SEC and B12 is exciting?
I'm just saying that there's legitimately entertaining football teams outside of the Power 5 and the American. WKU, Marshall, La. Tech (for the "Jeff Driskel is still in college?" memes), Air Force, Toledo, Bowling Green, and App State are all fun as hell to watch.

An 5 loss team wouldn't be competitive to win a conference. At worst I could see 4 loss team. It at the very least would be a safeguard against a conference being punished for having too much parity

That's not even fair cuz of usc. Come on now.
But even if they somehow had won the championship and then won 3 straight games in an 8-team playoff, that's an impressive stretch of games, especially considering how unlikely it is. And it would be worth that once in a lifetime chance a 5-7 loss team would win a championship if it meant that the conference champ would always be represented in the playoff
>>63722983
And also I would argue that its more a flaw of how the the Pac 12 decides who is in the conf championship if the winner of a division is banned from the post season. In which case the next best division record in the conference should be in the title game instead of that divisions runner up.
>They should allow bad teams over good teams because it will make better movies.
Fuck off Notre Dame.
>>63723042
Who is Notre Dame being put in over that deserves a spot?
>>63723096
2 Loss SEC runner up Florida at the end of the season
>>63719976
Iowa fan here. Iowa has a really solid offense but they're d is going to be exposed hard when they face a decent passing offense. They only have one guy in the secondary who can actually play man to man and the pass rush has been completely non-existent. The sort of cover 2 iowa plays doesn't work well at all with a mediocre d-line.
Real question: where would Oregon be if Vernon Adams hadn't broken his finger?
>>63723140
>Florida
>2 loss
They're losing to FSU next week.
reminder: SEC has a gauntlet schedule
who else would be able to handle Charleston State this late in the season? or Florida Atlantic a few weeks before conference championships
>>63723187
They would still have 2 losses which would put them on the outside looking in

except they do
and OU played well, until the fucking spear to the head on baker and that shitstorm trevor knight came in. i don't even know why he's still a scholarship player. probably only because he gave bob a win over the sec.
otherwise, trevor is complete shit now. i think he's been nonstop jacking it to katy perry. his arms are huge now, which has completely thrown off what little control he's had. he's lost all ball control because of katy perry.
>>63720527
>Kansas jump to the B1G in an instant.
kansas just needs to drop out of football and focus on one of the lesser, easier games
Can't wait to see how much politicking goes into the these last couple rankings. Iowa will never be allowed in the tournament, neither will any of the less marketable 1 loss teams. Another year of CFB bullshit.
Will Houston have a meme ranking in time for the Navy game?
Will we finally see a service academy go to a major bowl in our lifetime senpai?
>>63723887
I wish. I love watching the triple option more than another offense in football, but they just aren't that marketable and therefore will get shafted. Navy could be undefeated and still get denied a playoff spot.
