I just honestly don't get how he is all time #1 in Receptions, receiving yards and TDs. From the film I seen he looks kind of slow to be honest. So I went back to look at his 40 time and it was Fucking 4.71! Holy shit there are D-Linemen with faster 40s than that. Alex Smith runs a faster 40! He was also only 6'2 which isn't really that tall for a wideout. People also say other receivers like Chris Carter had better hands. In todays NFL he probably wouldn't even make it onto the field.
Was it just those 49ers teams were so talented that unlike a lot of the best WR they could only single cover him every time? Was Montana and Steve Young just that great of QBs that they could make a good receiver an all time great?
