I've trained militaries before with the us army, Iraqi and ANA, this actually just looks like movement drills to teach importance of individual and group movements. Teaching this turns militia into organized pre-militsry as organization, communication, and mobility are key. The 2 stage warheads on the modern ATGM's are able to penetrate the Abrams frontally. This is with standard ERA and first generation TUSK kit. The most modern ERA meant to stop 2 stage warheads as well as the the upgrades to the TUSK version give it no chance to even reach the armor, much less penetrate it. This is with the most modern ATGM's in direct fire usage. The top down attack is a different animal. The sides have become a no shoot zone. The Abrams wouldn't be seeing BMP's with the post 2010 Tusk upgrades however.
But it's like when the challengers got penetrated by RPG 29's. The drivers got injured but the rest of the tank was near unaffected. They cannot penetrate the front and continue into the crew compartment. The bare front of the turret would be an extremely tough nut to crack even on the first generation Abrams before the DU and chobham composite became standard.
The challenger more so than the Abrams is easier to penetrate pre upgrade because the LFP was incredibly flat and gigantic. The Abrams has slightly more angle on it and it's thicker but it's still a weak point on the tank.
The Bmp 1 was cuter however.

This anon has it right. The merkava conversion into the Namer is about as close as one can get to perfect.
A front engine challenger or Abrams conversion would be better with the DU chobham composite.
The BMP has the right idea for the low design and more flexible armament, but it's lacking in protection and crew comfort. You can't jam as many into the rear like other IFV's. The namer and Bradley are ok but the Bradley is too large and heavy while the machine has terrible vision and not enough armor. The namer is not as flexible armament wise. The Stryker is dogshit armor wise.
This pic still holds true. You will never have a perfect APC or IFV. Attempting to do too many jobs is silly. The only real solution is multiple IFV's and APC's instead of one you try to make do too many jobs.
