Nationalism is a perfectly rational response to neo-liberal globalisation. It doesn't imply hatred for other nations, simply the belief that a government should put its own citizens first. Just tell her you think smoking weed is degenerate. Don't even try to engage her in a debate about the law, just tell her you think it's degenerate. Even if you smoke it, it doesn't matter--she'll just drop it after a few minutes and not bring it up again.
That's all it takes with these people. Just disagree with them until they become too uncomfortable and drop the conversation. Don't call them names or anything, let them come to terms with the fact that they have to coexist with people that disagree with them and that they don't have the power to expel you for thinking that smoking weed is degenerate.
