There goes my Netflix subscription. If I can't watch the shows I want to watch that aren't popular enough to have a piracy scene, that gets rid of the whole reason I have the account.

Won't be renewing.

Since the 1990s, there's been allegations of this sort of abuse from peacekeeping troops and staff in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in Cambodia, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, East Timor, Haiti, South Sudan, Central African Republic. And the troops that have been responsible — at least the ones we know of — have been from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo and France"

http://nypost.com/2016/01/16/man-charged-with-attacking-uber-driver-sues-driver-for-5m/

>A Southern California man captured on video attacking an Uber driver has sued the driver for $5 million, claiming the video was recorded without his consent.

>Former Taco Bell executive Benjamin Golden of Newport Beach was arrested in November and charged with misdemeanor assault and battery for allegedly hitting 23-year-old driver Edward Caban. In November, the driver sued the 32-year-old Golden for more than $25,000 in damages.

>The Orange County Register reported Saturday that Golden filed a cross-complaint last month saying Caban illegally recorded him and posted the video to YouTube. The now-viral video captured by a dashboard-mounted camera shows Golden repeatedly striking Caban on the trip in Costa Mesa.

>As a result of media coverage, Golden says he suffered emotional distress, humiliation and the loss of his job.

The Olympic Committee is just as dirty as FIFA except they get away with it.
>>
Gib mones pls

I've lived in 4 cities that have hosted the Olympics, winter and summer, and I have to say that any city that would agree to host the Olympics is either laughably naïve or corrupt.
The IOC is much worse than FIFA, read Lords of the Rings.

Both the WC and the Olympic Games are essentially giant con games that see thousands of workers (stupid) and athletes (much more stupid) work for free for the entertainment of the very rich and corporate board members in taxpayer-funded (stupidest) stadiums, venues, and public infrastructure such as roads, highways, physical plant, buildings, sewage systems, etc.
The much vaunted legacy of the Games is miniscule.
Trivia: NONE of the best tickets are ever up for sale (except for a few unpopular events), they are for the IOC and friends, and the brass of the corporate sponsors. The public only ever has a chance to buy ~40% - 60% of tickets, and those are always the worst 40% - 60% of seats.

>Iceland seems to be on its way to becoming an even more secular nation, according to a new poll. Less than half of Icelanders claim they are religious and more than 40% of young Icelanders identify as atheist. Remarkably the poll failed to find young Icelanders who accept the creation story of the Bible. 93.9% of Icelanders younger than 25 believed the world was created in the big bang, 6.1% either had no opinion or thought it had come into existence through some other means and 0.0% believed it had been created by God.

>The poll also found a growing percentage of Icelanders support the full separation of church and state. Out of those who expressed an opinion on the subject 72% supported the full separation of church and state and 28% oppose the separation of church and state.

That's 0.0% of people going to heaven.
Christians 1
Atheists 0

Check mate Atheists.

What in the Icelands caused such a thing? I for sure thought that religious upbringing was designed to perpetuate itself, so something else must be at play. It can't be just the upbringing since that would also drastically affect the polls or opinions of separation of church and state.

...and OP, why Nietzsche? You edgy?
>>
>>17337
While the whole self perpetuation thing is true that doesn't mean that people will buy into it. Whilst the numbers suggested 60% of young people in Iceland still believe in something it might be that due to their education at school they accept that Science has a better explanation than the Bible or other religious text.

Dr Niakan is trying to gain permission to edit the DNA of human embryos. The article is http://news.sky.com/story/1622179/scientist-applies-to-edit-human-embryos What do you guys think about this. Should she go through with it? Is it horrific and should be stopped? Please post your opinions about this, I'd like to know your personal opinions on the matter.

China is already doing this. In America, however, scientists have made artificial bacteria. The DNA of this bacteria was literally put together from scratch by a computer.

You're rather biased against this OP. I think this should happen for science but not in the sense you are thinking.

I'm more interested in the psychological aspect that people will be having to deal with. That they were made, and that they Made someone. How the public reacts to the people Made is also of interest to me.

I'm expecting a tribalistic view of 'Us', the natural borns and 'Them', the genetically alter people, to occur. I believe, as I see the world now, that harsh restrictions imposed on these people because fear mongering will take over. Quite possibly, they will be labeled as dangerous individual or freaks that come to take away humanity. Mostly I think it will go far south should the experiments be undertaken and not for the reasons of actually doing research. If the public or people of power, who view themselves as self-righteous, might be so emboldened that we have a race war, it's not so far off as to imagine a genocide we witness to completion.
>>
>>17380
And after reading the article, I read to much into OP or rather OP did not convey the message of the article at all, the embryos are destroyed after seven days. No genetically alter humans for the near future I see.

Ah well, I can infer that OP is probably pro-life. My opinion that this should continue still stands.

http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/16/asia/taiwan-election/

Taipei (CNN)Taiwan has elected its first female president in a landmark election that could unsettle relations with Beijing.

Tsai Ing-wen, leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), won the presidency with 56.1% of the vote, the official Central News Agency said, after eight years under the government of the pro-China Kuomintang (KMT) or Nationalist Party.

Eric Chu, the Nationalist Party candidate in Taiwan's presidential election conceded defeat late Saturday and congratulated rival Tsai Ing-wen on her victory, the agency added.

Her supporters filled streets, waving party banners and cheering to victory announcements made from a stage.

The election marked the first time the KMT has lost control of the island's legislature. The DPP took 68 of the 113 seats in Taiwan's parliament compared to the DPP's 35.

At a post-election news conference, Tsai underscored Taiwan's commitment to democracy, calling it a value "deeply engrained in the Taiwanese people."

"Our democratic way of life is forever the resolve of Taiwan's 23 million people," she said.

But later in her speech, she also acknowledged the tenuous relationship with Beijing, saying both sides "have a responsibility to do their utmost to find mutually acceptable ways to interact ... and ensure no provocation and no surprises."

And probably more importantly, this election resulted in the DPP, the pro-independence party, winning not only the presidential election, but also a clear majority in the legislative elections.

They started hitting on the trannies, realized that they got a benis and then started raging, shouting that they should be stoned.
Then they picked up some stones and started throwing them at the trannies.

Police managed to break up the situation.

They should be stoned. Society needs to recognize that its a mental illness and treat it like a problem, because it is a problem. Society accepting mental illness's as something to celebrate and not treat is a disgrace to the human race. Fix them, not rejoice over them.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/life/only-7-per-cent-of-britons-consider-themselves-feminists/

>women were more likely to identify as feminist, nine per cent v. four per cent of men

>men were more supportive generally of equality between the sexes - 86 per cent compared to 74 per cent of women

>Younger women were more likely to call themselves feminist, with 19 per cent aged 18-24 using the word, but they were also most likely to oppose feminism

So men are more likely to support gender equality, while women are more likely to be feminists instead
More evidence that feminism is finally dying out. The number of people they can con into supporting their cult is dwindling, by this point I doubt many people who truly support gender equality are still gullible enough to be feminists. The movement is almost entirely made up of people who openly oppose equality now

Feminism in Britain has gotten some much deserved bad publicity recently in regards to equality. Pic-related, a british uni was going to observe International Men's Day this past November, and raise awareness of men's issues. The Uni had already focused on women's issues many times before
But, feminists threw a fit and made the uni cancel the day, because gender equality should focus solely on women's issues
Just a few hours before the Uni decided that male suicide is a non-issue that should never be discussed, a male student killed himself. Another victory for feminism!

Similar issue in Parliament with International Men's Day. A male MP suggested they have a talk about men's issues, since Parliament regularly talks about women's issues. A feminist MP objected and said nobody should discuss men's issues until women make up half of Parliament.
Fortunately feminists lost that round and Parliament actually did have a discussion on men's issues
