There is a petition to stop one of canadas telecommunication gaints from killing Canada's smaller, most affordable Internet providers so it can price-gouge you at will. If Bell succeeds, Canadians will be forced to pay more money for less Internet.

So I was wondering if 4Chan would like to help us stop Bell canada from raping our wallets

Love to help you man but Canadian teleco's have a complete monopoly over the market and the government organization devoted to regulating telecommunications just gives them whatever they want.

There is literally nothing you can do. Plus internet petitions are less than worthless.

Officials say three men who had been missing for three days were rescued Thursday from a deserted Pacific island after a U.S. Navy plane spotted a gigantic "help" spelled out with palm leaves.

U.S. Coast Guard spokeswoman Melissa McKenzie said Saturday that the men were reported missing Tuesday by their families after they failed to show up at the island of Weno.

McKenzie says the men were traveling in a skiff between two Micronesian islands when they were overtaken by a wave.

She says they were all wearing life jackets and were able to swim to the deserted island.

Two hours after being located, the men were picked up by a local small boat and taken to a hospital.

I don't get it why would they write PLEH? Did they think it works like a mirror?

As a rule of thumb, you should take with a grain of salt any statements by fellow football players that a given football player is a "quiet guy" and "doesn't have a temper". Especially if that football player is a front seven guy. I don't know if those people really have a handle on what normal people think of as "not having a temper".

http://www.i4u.com/2016/04/108357/scientists-create-metal-foam-turns-bullets-dust

>Researchers found that new composite metal foams (CMFs) have excellent thermal protection compared to plain metal, turning armor piercing bullet into dust.

>North Carolina State University researchers studied lightweight CMFs and found that the air pockets inside the metal foams are effective heat blockers. This makes CMFs a promising tool for use in transport and storage of hazardous materials, explosives, nuclear elements, and other heat sensitive materials. It could also prove beneficial for space exploration.

>Mechanical and aerospace engineering professor at NC State Afsaneh Rabiei shared that this property can be attributed to the hollow spheres in the CMFs, which is composed of stainless steel, carbon steel, or titanium implanted in a metallic matrix of aluminum, metallic alloys, and steel.

Neat.
I doubt the military will shell out the money to outfit soldiers with this new foam. Still neat though.

It reminds me the time I read about some British type or armor that was full of holes and works better than conventional armor.

Ceramics are still plenty good at stopping bullets. Depending on how much lighter these metal foams are they may be adopted in the future to save weight.

At least 75 people were killed and more than 200 injured in a fire at the Puttingal temple in the Indian state of Kerala on Sunday morning, Assistant Police Commissioner K. Laljy told CNN.
The wounded have been shifted to different hospitals in the city of Kollam and also to a medical college, Kerala Assistant Commissioner M.S. Santhosh said.
The incident occurred at 3:15 a.m.
The fire erupted when sparks from a fireworks display landed on and ignited a magazine of fireworks, Laljy said earlier.
He said that the fire is out and emergency personnel are at the scene.
There is no damage to the temple.

A woman arrested for cocaine possession told Florida jailers that the crack pipe found hidden in her vagina was not her property, but rather she was storing the drug paraphernalia for a friend.

Tiffany Flores, 23, was arrested yesterday afternoon following a traffic stop in Fellsmere, a city just north of Vero Beach (where Flores resides).

Flores, a passenger in the vehicle stopped, confessed to ownership of a small bag of cocaine that a cop found on the roadway “directly beside the passenger door frame,” according to an arrest affidavit.

After initially denying that she threw the cocaine out of the car window, Flores reportedly copped to owning the coke, which she said she purchased from a man named “Nino.”

Upon arriving at the county jail, Flores claimed that she could not go through a scanner since she was pregnant. But after a pregnancy test showed negative results, “jail staff processed Flores through the body scanner.” That is when officers noticed a “foreign object located inside of Flores’s vaginal area.”

Flores, seen above, subsequently retrieved “a clear cylindrical tube containing a burnt end” and gave it to a cop. But the crack pipe was not hers, explained Flores, who said that the item was owned by a female friend who was driving the car that had been pulled over.

Flores claimed that her pal “threw the crack pipe on her lap” and asked her to hide the item when a patrolman began following them. “Flores then hid it inside of her vagina in an attempt to avoid a search,” according to the affidavit.

Despite that explanation, Flores was charged with introducing contraband into a correctional facility, along with drug possession and tampering with evidence counts. Locked up in lieu of $11,000 bond, Flores has previously been busted for theft, cocaine possession, credit card fraud, and resisting arrest.

Florida. It's always fucking Florida.
I live here. I know exactly where to buy drugs. Half of my old classmates and acquaintances still sell, 7 years later. Rick 'the dick' Scott has been so focused on keeping his hand in the wallets of big companies that this state has become a pile of Hispanic shit. Honestly, I don't even give a fuck about the Hispanics anymore, at least they fucking work. Drive through the black and white trash areas, you'll see who's doing this.

A perverse strategy
>invading hispanics come in
>sell drugs to the natives
>natives become fucktards
>take their jobs,install yourselves there,now you're everywhere
>"SEE,WE NEED HISPANICS,LAZY BLACKS AND WHITES DON'T WANT TO WORK!"
Exactly what the British have done with China.
Or what China is doing with Russia.

Drugs are destroying black and white communities,we don't need filthy spics to "work",fuckers dodge taxes like no other.

Remove all forms of welfare and deport those without grandfathers and you'll see everyone working.

http://www.straitstimes.com/asia/se-asia/18-philippine-soldiers-killed-in-fierce-clashes-with-abu-sayyaf

MANILA - At least 18 soldiers and five Islamist militants were killed in a fierce 10-hour firefight between government forces and the Abu Sayyaf group in Basilan province, 1,400km south of the capital Manila, on Saturday (April 9).

Some 50 soldiers were wounded, according to Major Filemon Tan, spokesman of the military’s Western Mindanao Command.

“Initially, I confirm that there was an encounter in barangay (village) Baguindan, Tipo Tipo (town), Basilan, with results on the government side: 18 KIA (killed in action), 53 (wounded in action),” he said.

He said among the militants killed were Moroccan Mohammad Khatfab and Ubaida Hapilon, reportedly a son of a senior Abu Sayyaf leader Isnilon Hapilon.

The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported that an entire platoon “was wiped out”, and that four of the soldiers killed were beheaded.

Lieutenant-Colonel Benedicto Manquiquis said the clashes began at 7.55am on Saturday, when the Army’s 4th Special Forces Battalion and 44th Infantry Battalion came across over 100 Abu Sayyaf fighters.

The soldiers had been hunting the Abu Sayyaf across across Basilan and in nearby Joso islands for two weeks, hoping to free at least 18 foreigners being held by the group.

Among those held were Canadians Robert Hall, 50, and John Ridsdel, 68, and Norwegian Kjartan Sekkingstad, 56, whom the Abu Sayyaf had threatened to behead if their demands for ransom were not met by Friday (April 8).

>The Federal Communications Commission will fine a mobile provider $51.1 million for creating tens of thousands of fake Lifeline accounts. The Lifeline program, or “Obama phone” as some call it, subsidizes mobile service for low-income Americans.

>The FCC announced its $51.1 million on Total Call Mobile on Thursday. It would be the largest ever levied against a Lifeline provider, with the FCC saying that it reflects the “seriousness, duration, and scope of TCM’s multiple apparent violations.”

>The commission accused the company of fraudulently enrolling tens of thousands of ineligible and duplicate customers in the Lifeline program, which is meant to help poorer Americans get wireless access. The program is part of the Universal Service Fund, which is paid for by US residents through phone bill surcharges.

>The FCC pegged the amount of ill-gotten gains the company has raked in since 2014 at $9.7 million. During the fourth quarter of that year, 99.8 percent of Total Call’s enrollments in the nationwide program involved overriding a system designed to catch duplicates.

>“Any waste, fraud, or abuse in the Lifeline program diverts scarce funds from the consumers they are meant to serve and undermines the public’s trust in the program and its stewardship,” Travis LeBlanc, head of the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau, said in a Thursday statement.

>Last month, the FCC approved a program to create an independent entity that would verify Lifeline subscriber eligibility in order to reduce fraud.

Steam users who want to share a link to The Pirate Bay from the built-in chat client will be disappointed, as mentions of the popular torrent site are being censored. Links to various torrent and file-sharing sites are actively stripped from discussions, presumably because Valve doesn't appreciate some of the content that's shared through the site.

steamWith millions of active users Steam is not just a game distribution platform, but also a social network and a communication tool.

Many people use Steam’s instant messaging tool for chats with friends. About games of course, but also about lots of other stuff.

Interestingly, it appears that Steam doesn’t want its users to mention certain topics, piracy included. When one user tried to post a link to the notorious torrent site The Pirate Bay this week, Steam actively censored the message.

>A Baltimore school police officer who was caught on a viral video slapping and kicking a teenager has avoided felony child abuse charges. The officer and his partner, who observed the abuse, now face lesser charges of assault and misconduct in office.

>The Baltimore state’s attorney’s office dropped the second-degree child abuse charges against officer Anthony C. Spence, because they were not found to be “appropriate.”

>“After obtaining all the facts and analyzing them based on Maryland case law, Pope v. State, as well as the applicable criminal statute, we have determined the defendants in these cases did not have temporary care or custody of the victim, therefore the child abuse charges are not appropriate,” spokeswoman Rochelle Ritchie said in a statement.

>Spence, 44, has been under investigation since early March, when a video posted on Facebook showed him slapping a 16-year-old across the face three times before kicking him outside the REACH Partnership School in Clifton Park.

>Spence’s partner, Saverna Bias, 53, was seen standing nearby, reportedly encouraging Spence to “smack him because he has too much mouth.”

>Warren Brown, Spence’s lawyer, initially said that his client had been responding to a report of an intruder on the school grounds. However, it was later confirmed that the teenager was a student there. Brown then claimed that the student had spat on Spence before the officer slapped and kicked him.

>Bias’ attorney, Steven Levin, said on Thursday that the video showed his client hadn’t done anything to the teenager.

>“There is no basis for these charges,” Levin said.

Good work, officers.

>On March 10, both Spence and Bias were charged with second-degree assault and misconduct in office and put on paid administrative leave.
>Brown said that he and his client “fully expect” to convince a jury that Spence and Bias’ behavior was “more than appropriate,” and that the case was “brought on by the vile act of this alleged victim,” who he suggested was an example of an “antisocial, lead-poisoned, irrational, angry, mired in poverty and despair” child.
>“It’s not ‘Leave It to Beaver.’ You’re dealing with a tough group of people,” he said, according to the Baltimore Sun.
>Geisser is expecting Spence to be convicted for the “egregious acts” caught in the video. Spence’s arraignment is scheduled for May 6.

Good luck, officers.
