What are/were some of the worst periods/fads in music?

Always despised nu metal and similar shit. papa roach, korn, linkin park, staind, all that angry suburban shit that was popular somewhere around 2001-2004

All jokes aside, what makes an album a 10/10 in your honest opinion?!

>>65681131
It must resonate with me 10 out of ten listens.
>>
>>65681131
1.) I don't have to warm up to the album. I can listen to it once and it'll stick with me.
2.) It can't just be catchy. It has to make me feel a certain way and make me feel it intensely.
Perfect example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJONWCOoQJ8
>>
>>65681131
1) No filler
2) Replay value (links back to no filler) 10 years down the line
3) Good song structures
4) A narrative that has some conclusion
5) Songs that don't ramble on (links back to having a conclusion)
6) Evokes some sort of emotion

Hi. So I need some help!!!
So I listen to all types of music yadda yadda
Since about 2010 I've been pretty into hardcore.
Hardcore is great and everything, but I've kind of lost touch with my punk roots.
Long story short I'm looking for punk bands that are:

Harder than joyce manor or rancid (not poppy or too 90's).
Not too hard (not hardcore).
Have decent production quality (not grindcore esque. I want to be able to feel the beat so-to-say.).
Have recognizable (understandable) vocals (the opposite of bands like "Gag").

Thank you for your help /mu. I'm sure this will be a shit show...

Most punk bands these days fall into the hardcore category or the "hardly punk" category. There isn't much middle ground.
