seems legit
why not kill yourself?
Why do you make shitty music and fuck an ugly bitch?
saying vaporwave is dead=
you are admitting it's getting popular
you're building an artificial barrier that could prevent you from hearing some genuinely good tracks
you foster an atmosphere of pointless negativity toward future expression
stop it already you stupid fucks
maybe if the music wasnt shit more people would embrace it

I don't get why people say it's dead either. Early vaporwave, most of the popular albums of the genre, are inferior to what's coming out now. Most of it is bad though, and you cannot deny that. I'm sure it will continue developing though and we'll get some masterpieces out of it. There are at least 2 /mu/sicians who are among the best vaporwave artists.
Vaporwave is artistically dead. The best years were 2011/2012. Now it's just a bunch of self-promoting hacks copying and cannibalized each other and trying to be the next big thing. Nothing about the original mystique is left, now it's just up-beat nu-disco with a few samples.
What happened to rock bassists? Serious question here. You listen to 60s and 70s and there's octaves, walking lines, lines built on complex chord structures. Through the 80s and beyond, synths took over, and bassists by and large turned into robots that just thumped along to root notes. There have been exceptions throughout but...any thoughts on what happened to the bassist position, why it disappeared into the background?

Bassists remembered that they were just playing bass.
>>51846639
no fucking way man THAT is a bad example of how it progressed
All memes aside, is there any act in hip-hop right now that is more original/experimental than Death Grips? I ask because I legitimately want to know, if there are hip-hop albums more cutting-edge than NLDW or NOTM I want to hear them. The only thing that comes to mind are clipping. and maybe Busdriver but even they are very poppy compared to Death Grips.
Shaabaz Palaces, Clipping, cLOUDDEAD but they don't exist anymore. Some MF DOOM release could be considered "experimental".
In France we have Odezenne but it's shit.

Still, notm is crazier than any of them, while remaining catching.

Fuck off. The only folks worse than people who hate vaporwave for no reason are vaporwave "purists"
Are SJWs a danger to music?
We've seen legends like Bill Cosby shamed for something that isn't even proven. Despite the fact that his "victims" waited 40+ years to try to sue him and make some money, SJWs are campaigning to get him removed from positions and for his shows to be cancelled. Or look at how SJWs pressured firefox to fire their CEO for having an opinion they don't like.
I was just thinking recently with SJWs like Grimes and that Perfect Pussy whore who are trying to find sexism where it doesn't exist. And now pitchfork...

haha yeah great thread anon
Holy fuck Grimes is ugly
daily reminder that most "complex" music sucks all the emotion out of music itself and trades it for useless technological craft

Synthwave is good, soundtrack-inspired fun. Most of the artists are no John Carpenter or Wendy Carlos, but they do recall similar sounds.
Will Lazerhawk ever again create something as awesome as Redline?
why 4/4 /mu/? what if we tried 2/2?
if all popular music was in... say 5/8, would children be learning to play in 5/8?
Yes, but it wouldn't be.
theoretically you can shut the fuck up
symmetry. very little would change. probably.
