Just posted this in the old thread so gonna post it here too.
I started making my music years ago using a DAW that hardly ever gets a mention on here called AudioMulch. If I get time I'll try and write up a little bit about it, for the WIKI.
Anyone on a budget thinking of getting into electronic music should definatly give this a look as for a little over £100 its a great bit of software, developed by one guy.
Here is an video of some of the basics it can do:
http://youtu.be/7K_RTS73jSY
i desperately need some voice samples in my beats.. like the kind of ad libs hip hop and trap producer throw in, it always makes a track so much better.
anyone know where to start looking?

get educated and find a topic you like or issue that interests you and then sample whatever you can find
What does "production value" mean?
It's a buzzword for people who don't know anything about music trying to explain music quality.
>>52711375
the quality of the production.
it involves everything from the mics, placement and preamps, through to the mixing, editing and mastering.
compare ITAOTS to The Crane Wife. the first has pretty shoddy production, the second does not.
How do I even know what's production shitty production? Maybe the instruments just sounds like that?
Share good music, request any thing that ISN'T in the archives!
Archive: https://archive.rebeccablacktech.com/mu/ (When searching, search the Artist/Album name and put either Mega, Zippyshare, or Mediafire after it) Example: Outkast - Stankonia Mega.
Requesting Built to Spill's 'Ultimate Alternative Wavers' and 'You in Reverse' (The links in the archive don't work)
Requesting P-Model - Perspective. Archive links are dead.
In the meantime...

BROS!!!!
I plan on creating a Death Grips meets Avicii project
Basically, it'll have the raw intensity of Death Grips, with danceable rythms - all with a live drummer.
I'll fund/produce it, my buddy who toured with Tech Nine will rap, I have a hired producer that toured with Frank Zappa, along with a local DJ/producer
We're all in the Portland area
Fashion Week already exists.
Aggressive in that it'll feature hard hitting unrelenting drums, up-and-down surprise bass notes, and off-kilt background noises
However, it'll be written with melody, featuring warm EDM music, and live organic drumming
