I haven't produced any music in almost two years and I really want a hardware synth but I get the feeling that the novelty would wear off pretty quickly and it'd just end up as an overpriced toy.

I got a Minibrute, messed around with it for a few weeks, got sick of it, almost sold it, then randomly started wanking with it, and now I use it for a shit load of cool textures.
Idk, it just depends on what kind of music you make I guess.

I'm not totally sure what I'm listening to here, mostly because I'm not learn-ed in EDM genres and subgenres and whatnot, but I think it's kinda neat. I like how the kick isn't overbearingly big or sidechainy. The thing is a good start but it can be more interesting... more little artifacts or interesting "distrations" could be added. I like a lot of the sounds you're using/made though.

I'm a electronic music producer, already have a Virus TI but I want more hardware stuff.
The reviews are good and the sounds are decent as well and with my budget I just can't into the HoF of synthies.
So basically I'm looking for a synth with great electric piano sounds, bread-and-butter stuff like pads, strings and leads for the less present layers.
Other choices would be Roland Juno-Di or Dave Smith Instruments Mopho x4.
Or should I whore my ass out and save up for a Prophet 08 or Pro 2?
and while we're at it, what is a good synth for bass (NOT moog)
