Post the tracks you're working on, discuss general music composition (no derailing). Learn whether it's ok to make music without beats and how to turn Plantasia into a drinking game
Remember to use:

Any recommendations for something similar to stuff like Oneohtrix Point Never - R+7/Giant Claw - Dark Web/Holly Herndon/Nico Niquo

OPN's Commissions 1 if you haven't heard it
None of this shit is dead similar which is good but kind of has the same conceptual background:

Jam City, Classical Curves

Lol damn
"Self-obliterating aural-suicide". I think this is a great description of the sound. It seems that the vocalist is being bludgeoned by the electronics (technology) until he has dissolved into it by the second half of the album. At the start, he's so angry, desparate, and sounds frantic to the point of fear. The band are destroying their vocal aggressive confidence with an onslaught of sound. By the end, he's beaten into submission. Then, the album culminates with "whatever I want (fuck who's watching)". This is Ride's last attempt, lashing...

all their albums are conceptual!
but yeah, this one is super fucking interesting.
one of the most peculiar things ive noticed is the difference between the track listing of this album and all previous albums
>>53781761
Yes I would venture to say "Niggas On The Moon" is just as conceptual. What do you mean by the tracklisting? The number of tracks or the titles of the individual tracks themselves?

Lmao I swear people who think this just skim the lyrics and be like yep this is quite sad
Even though like every single song they've ever made is major chords the whole way through
It's like the most joyful sounding music you can use and these weirdos who can't connect with emotions in music like normal people still think it's sad cause morrisey said so in the lyrics lmao
Never trust a person who says the smiths are "sad" the likelihood that they are a sociopath is high
Morrissey said his lyrics were always funny fuck face and the songs are the way you perceive them and I perceive most of them in a sad way so take your opinion and shove it up you're arse m8
>>53779028
Emotionless sociopath confirmed
The Smiths are one of the only bands that I will laugh at. Morrissey's lyrics are hilarious. In a good way.
Once you learn how to arrange notation it all comes down to taste
Because you literally choose which note comes after the previous note
People with shit taste fail hard at this
And it's the same with every other aspect of music. Drums, timing, key. It's all just taste
Those with good taste make good music

>There is no talent in making music
why does talent matter?
>>53778075
how about rap or just music with lyrics that arent a chorus on repeat during the whole song? You need talent to write poetry/lyrics
>>53778102
Rap isnt music
