Was this the first time musique concrète was successfully intertwined with pop?
>>55231978
what?
>>55231990
Such as the sped-up tape loops in "Tomorrow Never Knows".
There are some strange songs in Tomorrow Never Knows (especially for the 60's), but it's all done with normal instruments. It's more similar to tape music than musique concrète.
ITT: Post your age. How old are we, /mu/?
I'll start. 21.
turned 38 yesterday
21 too.
Shouldn't we keep it music-related by mentioning our favourite album too? Pic related.

Sweet, I look forward to hearing from you dude. Saw your stuff in an earlier thread.
St. Vincent wearing Acne top & hat.
Perfect.

I've never listened to St. Vincent because I don't like indie garbage or guitar music.
Based on the images of her I've seen posted here the past year or so, I wouldn't like her music.
She looks pretty there, but the whole grey hair thing ruined her for me as every time I tried to jack it I couldn't help but think of the Melvins. Sorry. :(

>guitar music.
That like knocks off entire genres the fuck are you doing?
There was a thread talking about the constant degradation of the board over the past ~2 years.
People said that there's not much that could be done about it unless we had mods and janitors here 24/7, but that's not the case in my opinion. I think we should lets the mods know what we want here and what we don't. So I made a strawpoll so people could show what they want to start removing from the board. If theres a majority showing what we don't want here they'd possibly comply.
http://strawpoll.me/4148471
you mean my copypasta?
god damn /mu/ is fucking terrible. There is maybe 1 really good, constructive, music related thread per every 40 threads on this board. Yet I still come here all the time, and I have figured out all you can do is contribute to the awful as much as possible, not try to fight it. That is why I start and bump a j-pop and k-pop thread every hour on the hour. That is why I spend all of my spare time in mspaint making variations on constanza.jpg, that is why I always bomb every thread by saying Piper at the Gates of Dawn was best Floyd album, No love...

no. There was a serious thread talking about it.
I don't want anything removed.
Just let people talk about whatver music they want.
If something had to go, it would be the multiple threads that spawn whenver Fantano realses a new review.
Daft Punk's RAM is surprisingly well produced, especially for a pop record. Beats the production of Discovery out of the water, really (the actual quality of the composition and music is another matter entirely…)
But what other albums feature extremely good production? I've heard the first RATM album is "the" record audiophiles use for testing sound systems, and that Aphex Twin EP that came out a while ago (Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments pt2 EP) sounds pretty good, as well (though at times I really do think it could be better; is it just...

not exactly surprising, they seemed to be striving for a clean dynamic mix since the reformation
This is another famously well produced one
Is is still trendy to hate dadrock here?
How could you listen to something like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7rFYbMhcG8
and not enjoy it?
If it's cool, let's discuss dad-rock (bonus points for obscure shit)
>obscure shit
Isn't the definition of dadrock, if it even has a clear one, stuff that was popular back in the day? Wouldn't that just make "obscure dadrock" an oxymoron?
>>55224573
I thought we were taking it back, kind of like "nigger". Except in this case, it's now a catch-all for classic rock, so we can discuss shit like southern hard rock and pysch rock in the same thread.

I will shamelessly whore this album until it gets the attention it deserves.
If a musician like Sky Ferreira posed for a really risqué (but professionally shot) photo, like where she's crawling naked on a retro kitchen floor from behind, looking back at the camera (her bumhole and everything is visible) how do you think it would affect her career? Negatively? Positively? Neutral?
Feminist will defend her
i would probably jack it to those pictures
I'll have to see it for myself im afraid
Have you ever gone to a show alone? How is it?
I've been to a festival all by myself. Twice. It's in the city though so there's no camping involved. I take the tram back and forth, see the shows I want, go home.
Only time it was awkward was when I went to the clubs (not everything fits the main festival area so nightclubs around the city have artists on the night). I asked for a glass of water once and the bartender looked at me funny, so did all the drunk people.

i was thirsty and barely any bar serves what I want. Is english cider too much to ask for? They only got the sweet "cider" variants here. I don't like beer.

How come the Beatles have/had the best melodies? that's the most interesting thing about their music
How did they do it? did they talk about it?

it was the drugs that wrote the music, they were just empty vessels
