Songs with weird time signatures. I find these interesting, what does /mu/ think?
Pink Floyd - Money (7/4)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0kcet4aPpQ
Dave Brubeck - Take Five (5/4, as stated in title)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHdU5sHigYQ
Outkast - Hey Ya (11/4)
https://youtu.be/PWgvGjAhvIw?t=1m5s
Got the obvious out of the way.
>>55400372
im not sure about 11/4 on outcast, thats a bit of a stretch. its more like 4/4 with a couple bars of 2/4 thrown in. either way though i never noticed that before, thats neat.
>>55400481
ive heard it counted:
12/4 + 2/4 + 8/4

Share stuff, yo. Don't request unless you have something to give in return.
I'll start by sharing Duster's discography:
https://mega.co.nz/#!bF8XAZhQ!Bq_cmkWnT39iOqM8NJyZpOapCXdzNiKQK8d9WtYsnd8
>lo-fi, space rock, slowcore
Everything Duster ever released (and some of what they didn't).
I'm also putting in my one request for Earth's 'Phase 3: Thrones and Dominions' if anyone has it.
Happy sharing!
love that album

I commute through the suburbs of an Asian city every day to get to college; what music suits this?
New blur is pretty good for this, as is Amnesiac.

Change country please
Pic related. I want music where I feel like I'm in a different place when I listen to it. I like creepy/wintery vibes, but anything else would be great too.
2 tracks I like:
>mus.hiba- slow snow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9hOxDFyd6Q [Embed]
> the bloop (not a song, but it makes me think of the depths of the ocean) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9hOxDFyd6Q

donkey kong country gets me hard. its some of the best video game music ever. but generally all video game music is good for that. final fantasy is another one thats soothing.
movie soundtracks will take you somewhere else too. after that theres emo rock, math rock, psytrance, and vaporwave to make you feel whatever you do. and then theres like speedcore or noise or breakcore which will take you somewhere. if you want to go to a mall just listen to top 40. dupstep is good for that too. so is country if u want to go to the country. in short, op, thats a retarded question.
tldr...

I'm talking about the ones that make you want to pause and listen to it for a while, or the ones that get stuck in your head. A few of mine would be:

> Donkey Kong Country 2 - Stickerbush Symphony https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J67nkzoJ_2M

All the 3D LoZ's. MM and OoT especially for the boss/mini-boss themes. Pure gold there.
I used to play a lot of Runescape when i was a kid, and i gotta tell you, that shit is magical. Some of the music from that game actually inspired me to start making music

How do I into 90s dance and downtempo music?
By listening to it
I think Dig Your Own Hole should go on there instead. Also add:
Ken Ishii - Jelly Tones
Jeff Mills - Waveform Transmission Vol1
Robert Hood - Minimal Nation
That pretty much rounds out the best of 90s dance I think.

I'm so sick of genres. Anyone who I talk to is so concerned about categorizing everything they listen to. When will it be understood that describing the song is much more precise than spitting out some meaningless word like 'indie' or 'alternative'? These words limit music and i hate the way that all of these first year art school students dress their bands up into a ridiculous subgenre just to make themselves feel special and avoid using the word 'rock'.
suit your self bro
