We share some taste in math rock, indie rock and some emo like American Football and so on, but I feel like my taste in anything remotely hardcore is much more frilly than his? Can the weathered men of /mu/ recommend some good mathcore, hardcore, emo, and math rock to me that is abrasive but not too too aggressive? That sounds odd and I don't know how to phrase it (please forgive my English)!
Honestly my taste compared to his feels very "feminine," what should I listen to that are the important staples but I will still enjoy?

I've been trying to find somebody to help give feedback on my new album, everyone who's bought has just been like "Oh hey I really like it anon" or "woah that sounds cool" because they're really not into music outside of top 40 and pop. But yeah here's a fusion/math rock kind of deal I did with some mates

first song- the bass felt like it was pushing the guitar, which could have been tighter. some of the hat work sounded a bit mushy too. the bass is a major strong point. the back half almost got stale but it wasn't too long.
second song - the vocals are really clean and it seems almost funny against the guitar sound. bass work is flawless again. not a huge fan of the "lets make flange go over everything" part.
third song - the panning feels awkward a bit, and the chords in the section around 1:30 feel like they fall out of time. the organ sound is another welcome addition. this spacey part is rad as hell. kind felt like this song has very similar structure to the last one.
