What makes this so compelling/intriguing? I feel like it is some of the most mysterious and dark music out there. The lyrics are phenomenal too. Don, Aman is probably my favorite track.
>>66198066
The themes and lyrics have universal appeal; everyone feels isolated and alone sometimes which is what the album is about. These four just happened to write the most succinct lyrics about it.
>>66198172
I find it very interesting because all of the songs are about isolation in some way but each one touches on a different aspect of that isolation. And the vocal delivery helps with that stark, dour mood the music generates, makes it feel like someone is in the room talking to you. But in a creepy way.
>>66198558
Most definitely. Five songs looking at it in five different ways. Breadcrumb Trail is self-imposed isolation via doing something new/taking risks: the narrator didn't stay in line and at the carnival and got laid all day instead. Nosferatu Man is about a vampire who can only see his love at night, and indeed ends up killing her. Washer is about a man saying goodbye to his love and leaving. Good Morning, Captain is about all the isolation eventually circling back around to wanting to not be alone anymore.
Suggest some music themed (Preferably fictional) movies.
Been taking /mu/ suggestions and so far this week watched
Frank - 9.5/10
Green Room - 9/10
Inside Llewyn Davis - 8/10
Whiplash - 9/10
All high ratings but I'm being objective, they're all just really good movies
What should I watch tonight?
Love and Mercy is a sweet Beach Boys movie.

Have you seen amadeus already?

Wanting more fictional movies, like a normal well made movie that happens to feature music.

so on july third we (/mu/ - i didn't participate in it directly) had a thread for the discussion and sharing of various /mu/-related starter packs
i'd like to do something like that, only with a subtle twist: instead of starter packs for belonging to a particular /mu/-related subculture, how about starter packs for attracting a spouse from a particular /mu/-related subculture?
for example:
>starter pack for attracting a shoegaze gf
>starter pack for attracting a memerap gf
etc.
i doubt such a variation exists at present, so this thread will necessitate much original content, contributions and discussion
what are you guys' thoughts?
also here's the thread i previously mentioned: https://archive.rebeccablacktech.com/mu/thread/S66134530
since i used a swans fan in the op, what would a
>starter pack for attracting a swans gf
look like?
>>66194152
ooo she thicc
awful idea
1. anyone juvenile enough to care about someone's taste in music that much isn't worth being with
2. it won't "necessitate much original content". it'll be a circlejerk of the same fucking music that's always discussed here

Hey /mu/!
I am wondering if any of you would want to join in if I started up something kind of like /daily/ threads. I don't really know how /daily/ threads originated but hopefully some of you guys would back this up.
I notice minimal shitposting and most of the music sharing and actual music discussion happens most in genre themed threads so that's what gave me the idea to do this. For each month, we can vote on and dedicate a different genre to that month. Then, at the end of the month, vote on the most god-tier albums from that genre. If you don't like a month's genre, you can simply skip that month. Join in to discuss and share music or lurk and download music and listen along.
But I don't really know how to go about this without a bit of feedback and would not want to go about it if nobody would want to join in. So tell me what you think! Would you want to take part in this if it existed? What would you add or change to it if you did?

Doesn't Sound like a bad idea for as tripfag.
