I was really into psych stuff this week, oddesey and oracle and a lot of OTC inspired me a lot to make music so I need more good and catchy melodies.

Really good after repeated listens, unlike AMOK.
Skip Divided and Cymbal Rush are my favorites.
It's his best solo release. AMOK and TMB were okay but not terribly interesting.
I've been here since late April and I can't stop coming here every day for hours.
It's starting to take over my life. I've stopped going to my appointments, lost all contact with my mom and even dropped out of college. All I do now is listen to music that i find from here, download at least 10 albums per day and continue to post more and more.
I tried stopping but I can't.
Please help. I'm so lonely. And incase you think I'm trolling, here's my iTunes and notice the number of recently added albums. It's all from here. I really wish I had a life but this site has just made things worse. I have no friends. No future. No money.

Are there any noteworthy jazz critics?
What writers or sites opinions do you trust when it comes to jazz? Obviously we all recognize the value of listening to a lot of music to "develop our own taste" but when you discover an artist you'd like to delve into and they have over 50 albums in their discography but you just want to sample some, where do you go to find out which albums you should prioritize?

Allaboutjazz I find to be probably the best publication for jazz reviews. In general, if I find an artist, I listen to their latest probably because that's what I first came across, and if not then just listen to whatever. I find the idea of certain albums in an artist's discography being "essential" to be mostly bullshit. There is the odd "important" album here and there, but if they really are, you'll have no problem nailing down which ones they are and listening to them first.
